Best way to pay using Disney gift cards?

Like a lot of you, a local grocery store offers some decent gift card perks and they're bound to get better with the holidays coming. Is the best way to use gift cards to pay for the in park parts of our trip (snacks, tips, souvenirs, alcohol) charged to our room and then stop at the desk at our resort and have them apply the cars? Is there a better/easier way to manage this?

Charging to the room and then paying off at night is the easiest. On our last trip when we had free dining I just took a small amount of cash for tips and a bunch of giftcards for odds and ends. We did not even hook up a credit card to my KTTW card. It worked fine but I wound up with a few half used cards.
