I simply want to request a top floor room but I'm not sure how to do so most effectively. Should I call Guest Services or the resort itself? Or should I send an email in some manner? Any advice would be appreciated.

Hi. I emailed them from the main website and everything went smooth. They added it my reservation and sent me a confirmation email. We received it just fine and even did online checkin.

All you need to do is call the reservation number and have them add it to your reservation. Calling the number of a particular resort will not get you that resort, but rather a call center. Resort calls are routed to a call center that answers as if you are speaking to someone at the front desk of that resort, but in reality, you are not.

I appreciate the responses! I might email today since I'm hoarse and call in a few days. It doesn't hurt to go both ways I suppose. :)

If you are emailing to the reservation center, that is one thing. But the resorts do not recieve individual emails from potential guests. There is not one email address for a specific resort. Each cast member has their own email for company business.

Just call the reservation center and have it added to your reservation before your arrival.

I've always just called and asked them to add any request (I don't do it often but we do like the top floor!).

You can just call reservation center. I've done it plenty of times and most of my request, if not all my request have been met. :thumbsup2 No faxing, no emailing, no sending out any letters.. Just by calling will do. :)

The only way to be "sure" is to call it in. They are pulling up your reservation and adding it while they are on the phone with you. Anything else could result in it simply not happening.

(Put "sure" because you could always get a CM on the phone that messes it up)

We have always gotten the room we wanted , right down to the exact room number.

It is best to get the FAX number to the resort itself. A little research online will yield results.

Then send a nicely worded letter (with confirmation number) to the resort about 3 days before checking in, and I can almost guarantee you'll get the room you want.

Faxes go into the circular file. They stopped taking them quite a while ago. Rooms are assigned by computers now.

I always used to fax, but as mentioned, with the new reservation system, they don't look at faxes anymore.

I call to make my reservation, and add my room request(s) at that time. Then a few weeks out I'll phone to make sure they have them on my res.correctly.
If you have move then 1 request, prioritize them. Most important first.

On the email. You simply go to the contact us Then there is a drop down for reservations. Just put all your info in send and wallah they have it. They email you back to let u know along with the no guarantee etc. I take it any day over having to call and spend extra time adding it. Quick and easy. As I said before requests were granted so it does work this way too if you don't really want to talk to someone :).

I just do it through the reservation number. Never had a request denied.

They will never guarantee anything, so don't be upset if you don't get it...but if they can do some simple juggling to make you happy, be comfortable with the fact that they will. Just make sure it's on your reservation notes no later then your check in (if you use online check in)

Okay so I know there can be room request.... but what sort of other request can you do? Just curious :goodvibes

What other request do you have in mind? If you have a special diet request, you would have to probably talk to a different department.

I have severe seafood allergies. When I made my ADR's, you can indicate food allergies. This sends through a request to the restaurant to have the chef actually come out and help you make sure you do not choose anything that might compromise your health. We did the same thing with my traveling companion, who has crohn's disease; they made something special for her each night.

I decided to call Guest Services and it was quick and easy. I talked to a really nice CM and have no doubt that he took care of it for me. Thanks again!

I had the CM notate it in our reservation when I booked. At CSR, the only request I made was to be in the Cabanas if at all possible. I didn't request a certain Cabana, since it doesn't really matter to me which, I'd just really prefer to be in the Cabanas!

In the past, every request we've ever made room wise has been met! It's clearly no promise, but it's my experience that they'll do their best!

I do need to have the DVC member we rented points from for our 1st two nights at AKV Kidani put in a request for us. We booked standard since that was all they had open, but I'd like to request standard pool view if possible!

Would this be the same process if I wanted to request a room near my friends? We're a group of 9 who will likely stay in three separate rooms. Last time, we put the request on our reservation but still weren't placed near each other. Should I call with the three reservation numbers and request that we are linked in some way?

Many thanks!
