Best way to keep stroller dry

I've read that some will use shower curtains and clothes pins to keep their parked strollers dry, others use ponchos. What is really the easiest choice to keep our stroller dry? We're renting a double stroller from Orlando Strollers. Would we be better off buying a double stroller cover?

I'm trying to figure out the quickest (and preferably the cheapest) method. I don't want to spend a bunch of time messing with it before entering a line.

Does anyone just use the standard stroller cover (plastic one)?

We used a stroller cover. I highly recommend using one. Made to withstand winds, easy to get in and out of, just slip on and off, have air holes to allow for better circulation. We ordered from Bed Bath and Beyond

Did you order the basic generic one? I found one on there for about $15. I'm willing to spend that, not the $45 for the one that's supposed to go with the stroller I'll be using. Just as long as it will work.

Yes, the cheaper one. Just be sure and get the right size for your stroller. I had one for an umbrella stroller, we decided to take the larger canopy stroller so ordered the one for it. Took the first one with us and gave it to another family we met getting off the monorail in a downpour. I had a good heavy poncho for myself and both my daughter and I stayed quite dry considering the storm that passed through. We lined the bottom basket of the stroller with a trashbag just to keep water from splashing up and through the canvas to our stuff. Between that and the cover, everything stayed dry!

We have used a vinyl table cloth the past 2 times. Not only is it big enough to keep the stroller dry, but also doubles as something to sit on during parades and shows.

We've found a few on clearance at BRU and BCF. They were $4.99 so I bought 3. I think the stroller cover will be easier than messing around with clothespins and tablecloths. We have a Graco double and the generic fits fine. They fold up small enough to put in the diaper bag or the basket of the stroller.

I used a small tarp and bungee cord. Like a pp using a tablecloth said, it is good to sit on for the parade, too.

I will side with the stroller cover side. One big proble durring the afternoon showers in Florida is it can get quite windy... Stroler covers are designed to fit your stroller....

After reading your post I emailed Orlando Stroller Rentals. We are renting from them in August. We are getting a double. They said we could rent the rain cover for the week for just over $10. I did that so that way I knew it would fit and I really have no use for a rain cover at home.

What?!?! I asked her when I originally booked the rental and she said she doesn't rent the rain covers out due to making sure they get completely dry. Sounds like she's changing her offerings. I just ordered a generic one online the other night. :sad2:

I have used the plastic disposable table cloths with clips. I buy a few because I can get them for $.50 a piece and I can throw it away if it gets too wet or worn throughout the week

we use cheap ponchos. they are easy to just drape over the stroller and if they blow away or get stolen then there is no real $ lost
