ok, me and DD willbe at DLR Dec 2-6!! We have decided not to rent a car, and now I need to decide if we want to take a shuttle or a cab. What are the prices and do I need to make a ressie for either? Also, we are staying offsite. If we decide to take a cab back to the hotel after a day at disney, can we get one at the GCH, or do we need to book that ahead of time. and about how much will that cost? TIA!!

I don't quite understand your question. Do you already have your hotel reservation? Does the hotel offer the ART bus system? They also have a drop off/pick up area on the east side of the park where I see cabs all the time.

If you are not renting a car, I would stay right across the street from Disneyland and save yourself time going back and forth. If you elaborate more on where you are staying we could help you out more though.

What hotel do you have booked?

We stayed at PP and HoJo last time, and just walked (HoJo was closer than PP, the way we walked through DTD). We're staying at the Anabella on this trip, and we'll likely walk again (I hear there's some route through GCH that's shorter than walking over to and up Harbor). Are you further out than those?

What airport are you coming from?

We're coming into ONT (Ontario), and I'm going to make reservations with SuperShuttle soon. If we were coming into SNA I would likely take a taxi.

I think we need to know where you are staying before we can give you this advice. It all depends on that.

We are staying at the Quality Inn and Suites on Manchester. I know it is in walking distance from the parks, but it will be me and DD20, so I think we would feel safer taking a cab back to the hotel in the evenings, since it will be after dark. I just need to know the best way to get one.. at GCH or at the parks entrance, or call on to get us?
We are flying in to SNA. I guess I will book a shuttle, that seems to be the easiest thing. and as long as we don't have to sit on the shuttle for hours picking up other hotels guests on the way back to the airport, I think we will be fine. Is Super Shuttle the best service for this? Thanks!!:cloud9:

If it is within walking distance and you are staying till park closing you will not be able to get a shuttle and calling a cab, you can walk in the time it would take to get one there unless they are waiting for passengers. We(me, wife, daughter 13, son 9 and son 2) walked to Anabella each night @ 1am didn't feel threatened at all, hardly any cars out at that time.

And for bumbershoot or others we walked that route through GCH, I will post in a seperate thread. "Anabella route through GCH"

If you walk out the main entrance toward harbor, on the left there is an area with cabs waiting. However, you should realize that once you have walked this far, you are basically half-way back to your hotel on Manchester. We stay at HoJo which is just around the corner from Quality Inn & Suites. It will take you an additional 8 minutes or so from the taxi area to get to your hotel, and it is quite safe and well-lit.
