I could use some help. We will be spending a few days at Disney this coming June prior to catching a cruise on Carnival. Anyone have any ideas on how to get from Disney to Port Canaveral, and they back to the airport. I looked at renting a car but it seemed really expensive!

YOu can uses a rental car code from budget. wdwinfo.com has a discount code. There is a budget a double tree @ DTD. They have a free shuttle you must call ahead and get a pick up time. (the last I knew) Then drop it off at Port Canaveral. YOu should be able to get a compact or little bigger for no more than 40-45$.

It depends on how many people in your party. We rented the car last time, but it was four of us. The rental car was cheaper than the shuttle. We also did the shuttle that the ship provides which cost around $35 pp. At the ship, I did notice other there were other shuttle companies picking people up.

When you say the "Best" way do you mean the cheapest? We find the cheapest also means the least convenient. We only do one way car rentals if we can find an unbelieveably low rate like in Oct we got a midsize or fullsize car from Dollar for just $26 incl tax.
Otherwise it's not much more to splurge on a car service and let someone else handle the luggage. We like the door to door service without dealing with shuttles to/from port & rental car office.

We have used Happy Limo many times and they've always been prompt & with a clean, modern vehicle. They have a coupon on mousesavers.com.

There are many variables here. A lot depends on the size of your party. You can get a small, compact car for a reasonable rate, but it may not handle your family plus luggage. Then, you need to decide if you'll keep the car for the time you are on the cruise...or return the car and rerent when you get off the ship. That entails deciding how much time you want to spend 'in transit'...between car rental office and the ship. How much is parking going to be?? How much is your time and convenience worth??
A car service will run around $200, r/t, from WDW to port and then to MCO.
Run figures based on all the different variables. It's a very easy drive from WDW to port.
