Best way to get to DTD from parks?

We would really like to eat our QS meals at DTD several times (Earl of Sandwich, Wolfgang Puck's, etc.) we don't have parkhoppers so trying to see which parks would be easiest to get to DTD so we can save time hopping buses. We are staying at POR so will take the boat to/from resort, but are there any boat options to/from certain parks? Or will buses run from DTD to parks? Thanks!

No, direct bus service from parks. Need to take a bus to a resort and catch a DTD bus.

Disney is testing out an afternoon/evening bus service that runs between AK and DTD, but that's the only park at this point. Other than that, you'll need to get to a resort first. You could also take a taxi from a park to DTD.

We had to do it once. It took us a while. Lol, w/ our luck- of course we had to end up waiting for buses. We tried to pick a resort close to DTD or by the park we were @ so we didn't go out of the way.

You may want to just use a taxi because you will spend a lot of time just trying to get there via WDW buses.

When leaving the park you will have to take a bus to a resort. Once at the resort you will have to wait for a DTD bus to show up then travel to DTD.

Then when you are done eating you will have to get on a resort bus ride over to the resort and wait on the park bus to arrive. Then ride over to the park.

So if you are planning multiple QS meals at DTD you will waste a lot of vacation time trying to get to/from DTD so I would use a taxi.

I'm thinking this may be the only park they would do this. With AK almost always closing early evening and most people even leaving earlier than that, they are trying to get people to then go to DTD to fill out an entire day at WDW. No real need to do this at other parks.

OP you better really like these places since it will add an extra 2 hours or more to the meal just for travel back and forth if only using buses.

The easiest parks to get to and back from DTD are ones where you can walk to a nearby resort so anything besides the AK.

Traveling to DTD from a park and then back to the park is very time consuming because there are no direct buses (except from AK after 3:00 in Sept and Oct). You'll need to allow 2 hours for the travel time plus whatever time it takes to eat. All in all, it could take up to 3 hours out of the day.

You might want to consider staying in the park all day and then having dinner at DTD. At least getting back to your resort from DTD will be easy. Another option is to make a ful or half day at DTD and have both lunch and dinner there.

You could also take a taxi to and from DTD which would be much faster than the bus. There are taxis outside of all the parks except MK. From MK you would have to walk or monorail over to the Contemporary Resort or take the ferry or monorail to the TTC to get a taxi.

If you're going this month or next, then on your Animal Kingdom day you could stay in the park all day and anytime after 3 PM there will be a direct bus to DTD. For these 2 months, AK will be the easiest park to combine with a DTD visit.
