Best way to get to DHS from ASM

Looks like we will be staying at All Star Music next Feb. We will have a rental car.

Is it better to drive ourselves to Hollywood Studios and park or take the bus from the resort? Would like to know which would be quicker and/or easier.

It's a personal preference, really.

Driving almost certainly will be quicker unless you hit the bus timing exactly right both ways.

Easier is much more subjective.

We've never driven in all of our trips to WDW and wouldn't want to drive. Others would never be without a car and would take it everywhere.

The problem with a bus is that you have wait for the bus at your resort. But then, it goes directly to the bus stops near the entrance to DHS.

The problem with driving is that it's a two-step process. You can depart from your resort right away. But when you get to the DHS parking lot, you have to park where you're directed to park. (This can be a considerable distance from the entrance.) Most guests then wait for a parking lot tram (and they're not that frequent, especially in the afternoon); some guests choose to take the long walk.

Thanks for the info. I think we will probably be there pretty close to park opening so we will probably drive. That will give us the flexibility to leave when we want to without having to wait for a bus. I have heard the buses are sometimes combined with the other all star resorts and could be even slower.

I like to drive to DHS and EP, and take the bus to MK and AK. The nice thing about DHS is you can usually walk to the entrance faster than taking the tram. We will usually just walk unless we are parked in the farthest reaches of the DHS lot (hardly ever happens), or the tram is just sitting there and appears to be about to take off.

I can tell you that DW and I drive to EP, AK and DHS, and even sometimes to MK. We find it's much faster and convenient to drive ourselves, plus we don't have to stand on a crowded bus full of sweaty, tired and grumpy guests at park closing time. We've timed our trips to MK to see if driving ourselves or taking the bus is faster, and most times it's a wash.
