If we take the Animal Kingdom bus from CBR, is the drop off location in walking distance to AKL for Boma? Our reservation is at 6:30pm. Kinda confused on the best way to get there from CBR.

You can't walk to AKL from the Animal Kingdom park. You'd have to take a bus from AK to AKL. If the park's closed and the transportation has quit running (that's if it closes really early because you still need to be at AKL early for your reservation), you'd need to use another park or Downtown Disney (which is way out of the way) to transfer. You could transfer buses at Hollywood Studios, Epcot or Blizzard Beach if it's open.

that sounds like a lot of work... maybe we will just take a taxi. lol

We did CBR to Boma for a 9:15 breakfast during Easter week. We asked the bus driver what would be the best route. We took the Animal Kingdom bus to Animal Kingdom and then walked (actually ran) to the AK Lodge bus at the bus stop. (Ran because the bus was there when we arrived and we didn't want to wait for another one.)

Took a while, and we enjoyed breakfast. We were able to walk around the grounds and look at the savannah. We were glad we did it. However, we did say we probably wouldn't go through the trouble again.

More like a lot of time :rotfl: but do-able. Without a car resort to resort hopping for dining reservations can be a challange - but worth it IMO!

When we eat at Boma's we think the most "efficient" bus route is via the AK but do plan for an hour travel. Then hopefully you will arrive sooner than that to allow time to explore the AKL which is quite lovely.

Then after your meal, take the bus to your park destination of choice which won't be any worse than trying to travel from your "home" resort.

Or you could spend the money & take a taxi. Me, I like riding the buses & saving them $$$ :goodvibes

I always book Boma for the day I plan to do AK, then when I'm done I take the bus to DTD, where, oh darn, as long as I'm there, I might as well do some shopping. ;)

Thanks for all the replies. I take it it's going to be kinda a pain to get there - sure hope its worth it.
Anyone wanna guess on how much the taxi will be?

I have breakfast reservations at Boma at 7:30am the day we are planning on going to AK (opens early at 8). How am I gonna get there? Taxi only?

I believe the busses start running an hour before the parks open. I would ask the concierge/front desk if this is accurate and if that gives you enough time to get to your ADR. If not, I'd say take a cab.

The commute to the Animal Kingdom Lodge requires a lot of time and effort, which often precludes my family from eating at Boma. It's a shame, because it ranks among my favorite restaurants on property. It's hard to justify the meal, though, because getting to the resort is a hassle!

I guess that's a good reason to just stay there!

My guess about the taxi would be $15-20 each way.

It can take upwards of an hour when you use the theme parks that are open or Downtown Disney as a transfer hub between resorts. Your time might be worth the $20. Or it might not. But always give yourself that time buffer when you're not transferring by boat or monorail.
