Best way to get from Cabana Bay to Royal Pacific

We are staying at Cabana Bay in November. I am thinking of getting a throwaway room for one night so we have express passes for two days. What is the walking distance/approximate time to walk from Cabana Bay to Royal Pacific? Or would a taxi be very expensive? We will need to get there to check in before heading to the parks. Do we have to go back to the hotel to check out the next day?

We stayed at RP and walked over to the CB lobby one morning to look around. It took in the range of 15 minutes. The most direct route is to leave the lobby of CB, walk in the same direction towards the road that the taxis and buses use to enter and exit, then cross that road, note there is no crosswalk (which we found very strange) walking towards Sapphire. Walk through Sapphire entrance, then you have to go down the big circular stairs (or I'm certain there is an elevator somewhere close) to get to lower ground level, then go outside and down sidewalk past the boat launch towards RP, crossing another road just before RP. Then at RP you need to continue walking past the convention center and pool and then you have to either walk up two levels or take the elevator to the lobby and check in area.

Walking is the right answer. Another option is to walk to the far end of CB where there is a walking path that starts with a bridge over the main road. That path is beautifully manicured to keep you in the uni bubble (avoiding views of roads and parking lots). That path goes right to RPR (stay right) or IOA (following the canal). A bit longer walk than PP with shortcut through SF.

Another option, take the CB entrance to VB and catch a bus from there.

One more thought, in order to get your Express passes you need to have your entire party with you. If you have little kids or strollers in tow, it would be easier just to take a taxi from CB to RP rather than walking.

Unless the procedure has changed since we were at RP earlier this year, After you check in you go over to the Express pass kiosks and each person inserts their admission ticket and it takes a picture then prints out the Express pass. Then if you are going directly to The parks you can just take the boat from RP.
