Best way to get discount applied

I have a room booked at the Boardwalk INN 03/15-03/22 thru a TA. On Monday when the discounts are made available to the public, can I call Disney directly and get the discount or will my TA have to do it.
Which would be better?

My TA told me she would have to do it. I would prefer to do it myself, but this was our first trip as a family, and I had a few questions she helped me with, so I just had her book it. I don't know if my info is correct, as I'm a total newbie, but I was told she would have to apply the discount for us.

Your TA has to do it. That's why I do without a TA, honestly. Especially if the public offer goes live on the internet 7 hours before the phones open up, I don't want to risk getting shut out.

That's why I love my (Disney-certified) TA - A few minutes or so after the public offer is announced I receive an e-mail from her, telling me the discount has been applied to my reservation. Even when it becomes available at midnight!
