So, my inlaws decided the timeshare wasn't going to be big enough for all of us. 6 adults, 5 kids ages 6, 7, 5, 5, and 2. 2 families and grandparents. We need a minimum of 5 bedrooms.

Any specific houses you could recommend at allstar or another website?

Thanks!!

My personal favorite website is vrbo.com. I don't have any specific recomendations but I always enjoy looking at #43286. WOW! I can't believe someone would rent something like that.
Good Luck

Take a look at this guide to renting a vacation home. http://www.stayatemeraldisland.com/HomesForRent/GuideChoice.php

It will give you lots of things to think about before you start looking for a home. Once you know what you want, it will be easier to find the right home for you.

The formosa gardens area is close to WDW and restaurants. It also has easy access via I4 to Sea World, Aquatica, Universal etc. Communities in this area include Windsor Palms, Rolling Hills, Indian Ridge, Oak Island, Windsor Hills, Acadia Estates, Formosa Gardens, Emerald Island. I may have missed one out - I was working from memory.

You can search on larger sites such as VRBO. Most communities have their own sites organized by owners. Someone has already provided the link for WH. Windsor Palms is www.windsor-palms-florida.net, Emerald Island is www.StayAtEmeraldIsland.com

If you look at #43286 and see their availability calendar you will see that it never has much availability.

We had friends staying in Formosa Gardens last week and we got to visit them and then drove around the subdivision and saw this one. It looks just as amazing from the outside. Although when you're there and see it, it is more crowded together with the other homes than it looks in the picture. There are lots of homes in FG that are huge. There was another new one on Sleeping Dragon Lane that was impressive also.

Any idea which neighborhood the Vacationears homes are located in? Did not see this on the website which makes judging the properties difficult. Thanks :)

We stayed in a "vacationears" home last week. The "Tropical Getaway 2". They do not publish the exact locations of their homes on the internet for privacy/security reasons. (They answer the question of why in their FAQ.) I don't want to compromise that for them, so I will just say that they are west of Disney and the description of being about 8 miles from Disney is accurate. We found it to be convenient enough, taking about 15-20 minutes to get there, depending on traffic. All depends on the traffic on that Hwy 192, which it seems can get pretty congested. It probably took a little more than a half-hour or so to get there from the airport. The house was very nice and accommodated our 2 families + grandma and grandpa (11 people) very nicely. 6 bedrooms, 3 bathrooms, full kitchen, full laundry, pool and spa. The Tropical Getaway 1 is right next door and the rest of our large group (13 more people) stayed there. Everyone was very comfortable. I don't know if their other homes are in the same neighborhood/community or not. My sister did most of the communicating with the owners about our reservation, but my impression is that they were very easy and friendly to deal with. We booked well over a year ago and they were very nice to commit to giving us the then-current rates, so we didn't pay as much as they are asking currently. The rates seem very reasonable though, compared to other things we have been looking at. The owners also live right in the area, so are always available if needed. This was our one and only trip to FL so we've never stayed anywhere else, but we were happy with these homes.
