What's the best way to go from MGM to Epcot after Fantasmic.....TIA

Bus to TTC, monorail to Epcot.

Keep in mind you won't have much time at Epcot after Fantasmic unless it's an EMH night.

The fastest and easiest is to walk - takes about 20-25 minutes. The boat takes about the same amount of time, plus however long you need to wait for it to arrive and load passengers.

The boat from the MGM dock goes to the Epcot resorts and then Epcot. Or if you are in for nice walk, you can walk the paths from MGM to the resorts and then Epcot.

Do you need to get to Epcot's parking lot or into Epcot?
There's always the option of taking the Friendship to Epcot's International Gateway. That takes about 30 minutes, provided that the boat is there when you get to the dock and that the boat isn't full, which it often is after MGM closes. If you do this, you won't be able to get to the Epcot lot without going through the park first.

While the boat ride is nice and relaxing, we found that unless there was a boat waiting and there was no line the fastest way is to walk. Really a nice walk alongside the Boardwalk into the International Gateway.

DEFINITELY not the way to go. As you exit MGM head to the left to catch the boat or walk on the path to Epcot - The boat is probably 30 minutes max - walking aboudt 20-30 depending on how fast you go :)

Right IDEA. Wrong DESTINATION.

The BUS will be the fastest way to Epcot.
But there is a DIRECT bus from MGM to Epcot.
It will let you out at the front gate/parking lot area of Epcot.

Going to TTC and riding the monorail back would take 4-5 times longer.

But if you want to see IllumiNations, the best route (as was stated) is either the boat or the walkway between both parks to the Int'l. Gateway.

I like to take the boat halfway, say to BW or Y and B Club and then walk the rest of the way. That's my personal favorite. One time we walked the entire distance in March it was bitter cold and not at all pleasant.

but where is the boat dock at MGM? :listen:

A hijack would be asking a question not related to the subject.
This one fits right in. :thumbsup2

You simply can't miss the dock if you are looking for it.

There's a lake in front of MGM.

The only thing that's "in" it is a boat dock.

(And, hopefully, a BOAT when you want one.) :goodvibes

Keep going to the left as you exit, that's where the boat dock is.

As others have already said, if anyone is trying to get on the Frienship boat after Fantasmic I would say forget about it. Way too crowded to even try getting on the boat. Just stay on the path away from the Studios entrance. With the water on your left and the parking lot on your right this walk will start to move down and away from the parking lot. The water will always be on your left. Just keep walking and in about 20-25 minutes you will be at Epcot.

Assuming reasonable weather, walking is great!

There IS a direct bus from MGM to Epcot front gate and that may be your best bet if you're heading for future world if you can catch one without too much delay.

The boat is fun and relaxing but it is the slowest way. Even if the boat leaves immediately I will beat it walking everytime (I'm a fast walker). And if you don't get on the first boat after Fantasmic, forget it.

I agree with the other posters about walking. Unless there are two shows that day, fantasmic tends to almost close the park, so you get large crowds leaving, which tend to make the lines at the boat dock and buses long.

You will be SURPRISED at how short this walk really is I mean in 15 minutes your at the boardwalk at if you know the way just cut through the BWI your out back by the lake in twenty minutes. All told I'm 6'2 and a slightly fast walker, i can make it from MGM to Epcot world showcase in 30 minutes, but then it's right to Rose and Crown for a cold one :drinking1

Um, it only took us about 20-25 minutes when we did bus to TTC and Monorail. About the same amount of time other people are quoting on walking and boat rides, and a heck of a lot more restful than the walk others are proposing...

Now I didn't know about a bus directly to Epcot from MGM. That one is new on me, but I guess it isn't well known since like 2 people even mentioned it.*shrug*

You are simply mistaken about this.

Epcot and TTC are very far apart.
Epcot and MGM are close together.

It would take nearly 20 minutes just to get from MGM to TTC by bus.
It just DOES, they are that far apart.

Then, you must walk from the bus area at TTC to the Epcot Monorail (3-5 minutes for the walk).
Monorail must be at the station, ready to leave.
Then, the ride just to REACH Epcot (but not the station) takes about 13-17 minutes.
Then, the monorail going TOO Epcot makes that BIG CIRCLE around FW before stopping at the station. (That circle trip alone takes 3-4 minutes.)

But MY timing does not really matter.

Here's the website info.
www.ourlaughingplace.com/asp/twiz.asp

If you click "MGM" to "Epcot", it shows the following:

Disney-MGM Studios Epcot® Bus: 13 mins.
Disney-MGM Studios Epcot® Boat: 37 mins.

Disney-MGM Studios> TTC> Epcot® Bus.Monorail: 46 mins.

(Add 5-10 minutes at each segment wait time for transportation.)

There has always been two-way bus service between Epcot and MGM, and Epcot and DAK.

The biggest difference to the OP would be if they wanted to go to the Epcot front gate/parking lot... or the Int'l. Gateway (for viewing IllumiNations.)

I asked my wife what we did... I was mistaken.

Thanks to people who were so, umm... nice about it.

There are so many "comings and goings" at WDW that it takes a lot of "going" to figure all the ways.

Not to mention, they CHANGE things so many times.

When we first started going on WDW trips, EVERYTHING went via TTC.

All the buses and monorails... MAJOR HUB.

Then, over the years they sent fewer and fewer routes to/thru TTC.

I clearly remember the year we came back down and the resort bus took us DIRECTLY to the MK (front gate area) instead of TTC, I was amazed that they did this (it wouldd be a nightmare now at TTC if they DIDN'T).

For a long time, FtW guests were routed thru TTC to other destinations (including DTD). Now FtW has "direct" routes to many (most) places.

Now about the only major bus connections that stop at TTC are the MGM/MK, DAK/MK and Shades of Green resort buses.

The major hubs now are the theme-parks (when they are open) and DTD/Pleasure Island.

At least we WERE a couple of months ago... you know how things CHANGE!
:goodvibes

You don't have to go to the TTC to get a monorail to Epcot from MGM, a bus goes directly from MGM to Epcot. And this is the fastest way, the boat takes forever, it stops at the swan and Dolphin hotels, Yatch and Beach club resorts and the Boardwalk before getting to Epcot. And don't consider walking from MGM to Epcot it's a 25-40 minute walk depending how fast you walk, it's far don't do it!!
