We have a 5:30 PS at the CA Grill at the Contemporary.

We'll be coming from an afternoon rest and getting all spiffied up at the Dolphin.

What's the best way to get there? If I take WDW transportation, what time should I leave the Dolphin to get to the CA Grill, say by 5:15??

This will be on Thursday in late February, when hopefully the parks won't be packed.

Any help would be appreciated!

Thanks!

Easiest way is to take a bus to MK and then walk (or take monorail).

Thanks for asking this question! We'll be doing the same thing on March 3 (from the Swan)!

Disney transportation can take a VERY long time or it can be slick as a whistle. I personally like to be early to everything too. So since I think by car it took me about 15-20 minutes to get from the Boardwalk area to the MK area. Then once you get to the Magic Kingdom you will either take a 5-10 minute monorail or about the same to walk. I would personally leave the Dolphin at about 4:45.

Another more expensive option but it sounds like you are planning a special night, would be to hire a taxi to take you directly, probably less than $10 one way. Or an even more glamorous option would be to hire a town car to take you.

Have a great time,
Brenda

I expect the most time-efficient route would be MK bus then monorail to CR, as Lewisc suggests. I do not favor taking a cab unless you are running very late, since you can do this in short order using Disney Transportation. You should be able to do it in 45 mins, but you might make it in 30, or it could take an hour; I would recommend getting to the Dolphin bus stop at 4:15 since you want to be there no later than 5:15.

Best is relative....

1) Drive. If you have a car available to you, it will be fairly fast and efficient. Cost: car rental - if you valet park, about $8. Time: 20 minutes. Ambiance: Its a rental car (or your own car)

2) Take a bus to the MK and walk to the CR. Buses should come every 20 minutes, shouldn't be crowded that direction at that time of day, and should take about 20 minutes once you board the bus - add another 20 for the walk from MK to Ca Grill and it should take under an hour. Cost: Free. Time: 1 hour. Ambiance: Its a bus.

3) Take a stroll through Epcot, the monorail to TTC and the resort monorail to the CR. The stroll will take about 40 minutes - but will be more pleasant than a bus. The two monorail rides should take another 40. The CR is (IIRC) the last stop, so the resort monorail ride will be lengthy, but pleasant. This will take a little longer, but personally, I'd do this before taking the bus - especially all dressed up. Cost: Free. Time: 1 hour 20 minutes. Ambiance: I like walking through Epcot and riding the monorail.

4) Take a cab. It will cost between $10-15. There will be a cab in front of your resort (or, if not, talk to the bellhop, but there is always a cab there) and it will take 10 minutes. Because you won't park or need to walk to your car, it will be even faster than driving. This is what we do. Cost: $10-20, Time: 10 minutes (fifteen if you figure getting up the the Ca Grill), Ambiance: Cabs that frequent Disney tend to be clean and smoke free. But its a cab.

Thanks everyone! I appreciate all of the tips!

We're going to be celebrating our 20th wedding anniversary, so we wanted it to be special!

Thanks again.
