We re-did our bathroom and somehow I ended up with clear glass shower doors. I hate them!

I have a film that I think needs to be chiseled off  or it's inside the glass ? I can't tell - they look clean until I look at them a certain way KWIM ? I have tried CLR, too. I think I've tried everything! It looks like it's getting worse.

Does anyone know of a good way to get them sparkling like new?

I have hard water but we have a water softner :confused3

Believe it or not.....the good 'ol Magic Eraser! Cleans mine beautifully. You might have a real chore on your hands at first, but if you squeegy (sp?) after each shower and then use the magic eraser once a week, they should stay nice looking.

I even use the magic eraser on the tiles in the shower, maybe every other week. :goodvibes

yep the eraser and my sil uses that spray stuff for after you shower but not cleaning.

Thanks I'm going to try them - I love those things! :goodvibes

DH doesn't squeegy :headache: (real men don't squeegy I guess?). He showers at the crack of dawn and I'm not getting out of bed at that hour to squeegy after him.

We have three people showering and only squeege once a day....it really works!

I use the magic eraser then rub it down an with orange oil that is sold as furniture polish. It repels the water, and soap scum.

I used Lysol 4 in 1 on the glass and it worked wonderfully! I just sprayed it on and left it for a few minutes and wiped it right off! So easy and it wasn't messy at all!

Does anyone have any suggestions on how to get the soap scum off of shower tiles? I have a terra cotta type tile in my shower and it gets scummy so easily and I can never get it looking totally clean!

Interesting, I bet that works well!!

My DH is actually a master tile person! Just not good w/ shower doors! :rolleyes1

He insists that really hot water and a stiff brush are the best cleaners of tile. I personally use stuff called Sun & Earth - it has orange oil in it.

Maybe I should try that on the doors, too. I was thinking oil might smear :confused3

I have the same problem as you. If you can take the door off, take it outside and lay it dirty side up. Pour on the white vinegar. Let it sit for about 1/2 hour. Rub it off with anything you like, it should come off easily. I like to use the sponges that have the slightly abrasive pad on the one side.

If you can't remove your door, pour white vinegar in a spray bottle. Spray the door down and keep it damp for about 30 minutes, then wipe it off!!!

Happy cleaning!!!

We have very hard water here in the desert southwest. My tip is from "the queen of clean" as she's called here, Linda, she does features on the local networks. Use lemon oil to clean glass shower doors, and "Gel-Gloss" which comes in a hot pink can to clean tiles. I've used the lemon oil and it works to clean plus helps avoid further build-up.

The purple stuff called Kaboom.
Although I never tried the Magic Eraser.

The new house we are moving into has a clear glass shower. I asked the sales consultant how to keep it clean. She said to put Rain-X on the glass. Sounds like it might work, but I have not had the opportunity to try it yet.

I hate our clear shower doors too. You could just try my method - don't worry about the buildup and very shortly you'll have opaque glass! ;)

Yeah, Kaboom is probably the best thing I've found although the smell is awful. Otherwise I just use vinegar/water spray and scrub like crazy.
