Best Way to Buy Disney Gift Cards?

One of the best ideas I have gotten from coming to these boards is to buy Disney gift cards for my kids to have when we go on our trip to use for souvenirs and other spending money. I would also love to buy some of GC's for DH and myself too so that we can limit our credit card and cash usage for the trip.

I have seen various people post on deals they have found getting extra bonus money or discounts on Disney GC's at Sam's Club (we don't have one nearby), and Winn Dixie (out of luck with that one too). One of our local grocery stores is currently running double gas points on all gift card purchases (which would be better than nothing) but they don't carry Disney GC's.

I had hoped to use a site like Ebates or Shop at Home to get a rebate ordering the GC's from the Disney site but they are exempt from the those two programs.

I am fresh out of ideas to maximize my Disney GC buying dollars and I consider myself the queen of bargain hunting lol!

I was hoping someone (anyone) on this board could throw me some ideas please Even if your ideas don't apply to me they may help someone else. Every extra dollar helps. I need a little Pixie Dust here! TIA!

I wish I knew....I cashed in some credit card reward points for a 50.00 Disney GC but it's backordered so who knows if it'll even get here in time. And then I did the DVC presentation for 25.00 in Disney GC money.

I'd love to purchase some more Disney GC's and get some kind of incentive for buying them but I've not seen any at local stores or online

Do you have a Target near you? I recently discovered that my Target carries $50 gift cards and the 5% off when you use their credit/debit cards works on them, if you pick up 5 prescriptions at their pharmacy you get a 5% off shopping day coupon in the mail that you can also use on the cards. Its not much but it is something.

it's not exciting, but I get our Disney Gift Cards at Kroger.... they're offering 4X fuel points when you get a gift card. So I bought a $100 gift card (with my Disney Visa to get the Disney Dollars) and got 400 fuel points. (which will give us 40 cents off one fill up. So, not too bad.....

This is exactly what we are doing to pay the balance. We are charging around $1800 on the Visa to pay the balance on a Disney gift card at Kroger, we'll get $1 a gallon off 7 fillups in October, and get the equivalent of $90 cash back on the credit card to get some souveniers.

We take both vehicles to Kroger to fill at the same time, so at $1 off per gallon, it's like a $30 discount each time.

No Kroger near us and Targets (or any pharmacies) in NY state cannot give incentives for taking prescriptions to them (it is a bummer too). Thanks for those suggestions though and I am sure someone can use them

Keep the ideas coming though! Maybe something will come up!

I will be going to Philadelphia in November possibly (our trip is in December) so if in the pre-Christmas season any stores in that area may run some good GC incentives or are known for it maybe I can get lucky then. Hopefully I will not have to wait that long though.

If you shop online alot or like to do surveys you can go to a site called quick rewards. You get a percentage for buying online at certain stores and can save that up to redeem for gift cards. I have only purchased from the crocs store but i do the surveys and have gotten 50.00 worth of disney gift cards for free. I know there are people who rack up alot more on this site but i only spend so much time doing surveys.

Our local BJ's discounts the gift cards that they sell. Not sure if they have Disney ones though.

I know this has been said before, but Our local Sams club has Disney GC's $100 for like 98.50, and it comes with a $10 disney store card. You cant use the bonus card AT disney, but its nice to have for christmas shopping!

It was for $98.87, but I've read on these boards that they have discontinued that promotion. So YMMV.

Whatever you do, do not more than face value for a Disney Gift Card, including shipping costs. If all else fails, make up your Disney Dollars and give those to your kids, which they can turn in to you for souvenirs at the park. Or you can buy Disney Gift Cards at Disney World in various areas for face value.

Lol you're right, 98.87. I bought them on Wednesday here in Florida, so some are definatly still doing it.

generally I just add $25 to my grocery shopping budget every week and buy a gift card at the grocery store.. stop and shop has them and I believe so does shaws... at least at stop and shop it counts towards your gas points...

To my knowledge, they're interchangeable- they can be used at the Disney Store, Disneyland resort, WDW, disneyshopping.com and the cruise line.

I also score Disney gift cards from quick rewards. I was also getting Walgreens gift cards from mypoints.com, but I've found that it's a better value to use it toward gift cards for places like Landry's that we can use at T-Rex.

Around here, the supermarkets sell Disney cards, as well as Walgreens.

There are actually disney store gift cards that are not interchangeable and cannot be used to buy disney gift cards I have a couple if I can find them I will post a picture of them so you can see the difference

Our Sams Club doesn't take Visa as a credit card payment. Anyone know if I can buy Walmart gift cards using my visa credit card and then use the walmart gift card to purchase the disney gift card? Would like to snag some reward points if I can!
