My in laws are taking my sil, bil and 2 nieces to WDW over President's Week (we weren't invited!!!). We've been a few times but they never have and my inlaws are not as chipper as they used to be (though they walk every day). We know they have ressies at the Japanese Steakhouse for dinner one night. My husband and I began thinking about how long a walk it will be for them to get back to the bus for WL afterwards. Is there a better way to do it? I told my dh (who disagreed) that it might be better to leave Epcot by the INternational Walkway and pick up a bus at BC. Any other thoughts? I always think Epcot is a ton of walking!!!

They could take one of the boats from the WS side over to the walkway to FutureWorld. Then they would have to walk through to the bus area.
If they exit through the Intnl. Gtwy, they are still going to have a hefty walk. It takes about 8 minutes to get to BC bus stop area. Then, they would have to hop on the MK bus, and then take the boat from MK back to WL.
Another option could be to go to the Intnl. Gtwy...hop on the Friendship boat to MGM, then hop on a WL bus. That might be their best bet for the least amount of walking. When they get to the boat dock at MGM, it's about a 2 min. walk to the bus area, probably shorter.

I agree with goofy4tink. If they exit at the International Gateway they can board the Friendship boat and have a nice leisurely ride to the Disney Studios. The ride takes about 25-30 minutes because it stops at the Beach/Yacht clubs, Boardwalk, and Swan/Dolphin along the route. It is an especially nice ride at night with all the lights on the boardwalk and the other resorts.
The other option it to exit at the IG, walk to the Beach Club, walk through the main lobby and out the main entrance. They can take a bus to the MK and the boat back to the WL from there. Or they might want to take a taxi back to their resort from the BC.
