I am not sure what aiport yet (probably Orange County as I hate LAX...) but what is the best way to get to the Grand Californian without renting a car? There will be 3 of us, so would a taxi be best?

My vote is for a Taxi. It's only your party and you don't have to make extra stops when you just want to get to the hotel! Also there should be a flat rate for going to the Disneyland Resort of about $40.

Super Shuttle. It is not expensive and you can easily find coupons to discount it even more. It is quick and easy.

So will all cabs have a flat rate? That is what I was afraid of is having a traffic issue and some crazy cab fare! We did take a shuttle once about 5 years ago and it was SO bad because the guy was going to a private residence to pick someone UP and couldn't find it, so it was like 2 hours to get to the hotel...

Once you walk out of the airport, there is an attendant out by the taxi area. We just asked him to get us a cab with a flat rate and he had one pull up right away. I believe it was $45 for the 6 of us adults in a van. Much faster than the shuttle.

From SNA, SuperShuttle will save you ~$25 each way over a taxi. Our taxi ride cost us $48 one way and $46 the other, not counting tip. We used a coupon for $3 off each way for SS when it was just 2 of us and it was only $7/pp each way plus tip. A taxi is good when your party is larger, but for the size of your party I'd use SS. We've never had to wait longer than 10 minutes and have used SS 6 times in the last couple of years for the SNA-DL route.

Try this link for coupon codes: http://www.retailmenot.com/view/supershuttle.com I've used the first one many times, but they changed the way you can use it now so that if you enter your whole party on one booking, you only get $3 off the party rather than pp. You can get around that by booking each person separately. You won't have to worry about being separated--they'll keep your party together. If it's too much hassle for the $6 savings over the other coupon deals, pick one that gives you $2 off pp each way ;) Then you can just do it all in one booking.

We fly to LAX :scared1: because we have a direct flight from our nearest airport. When we flew in Feb, we used Luken Limo for a town car service. It was recommended by several DISers. Howard was GREAT! He met us as baggage claim and took our bags to the car. Our flight was about 25 minutes early, so we thought that we would just get our bags and wait for him. No, he had called to check on the flight and was there early, too. We are using him again in Sept. Here is the website. http://luken-limousine.com/main.htm If you end up flying into LAX, this is the way to go!

Sounds cool, how much did this cost for your family with tip and tax?

In Feb., it was $180 round trip including tip. It sounds pricey, but to avoid the bus and have someone help with the bags, it was well worth it. I would say that the peace of mind was the most important. I am not a city girl, so it was nice to have someone waiting to lead us out and not have to deal with other people waiting for the Disney bus (will there even be room) was worth the cost as well. It was quicker to get to the hotel as well. He also provided water in the car. This price was for a towncar, and I don't know for sure if it has gone up or not. When we flew into SNA, we rented a car. It is such a more relaxed area. But once we got out of the parking garage at LAX, I was so thankful that a local was driving. When Howard picked us up at the hotel for the return flight, he called my cellphone as he drove up to let us know that he was there. He loaded the luggage and drove us to the airport. He was very professional right down to a red hankie in his breast pocket. We would highly recommend this service if you can fit it into the budget. In our case, it was cheaper to fly into LAX and use Luken Limo than to either drive or fly into SNA. It was so worth it!

I forgot that the shuttle was only $10 per person from SNA. What I don't understand is why is it $35 per person from LGB? It's sbout the same distance. Maybe the smaller airport, less demand? :confused3 Any thoughts?
