Best waterpark for kids 7 & 8

Thanks to everyone for all the great tips! I "think" we're going to try to visit both waterparks now. :) We will have one day that's an all day waterpark day, so I think that will be Blizzard Beach (also for the mini golf option!) and then the afternoon we only have a couple hours, we'll check out TL! I think they'll love both for different reasons. :)

Unfortunately, I'm pretty certain my youngest that's turning 7 just before the trip won't hit 48" My 8 year old has a shot, but neither are blessed with good genes in the height department - they are both on the small side! LOL

Thanks again all!:rainbow:

I remember hearing about a slide that some people say gives an absolutely brutal and painful wedgie! Does anyone know which slide that is, and at which park? And is it really so bad for everyone, or is it only rare that someone has a major issue? (Sorry to be so vague).

A few of them can, but you no doubt mean the "Summit Plummet" from the top of Mount Gushmore at Blizzard Beach. It is a speed slide with a very steep drop and they clock you at over 50 MPH (there is a speed camera displaying your speed near the bottom). It'll wedge ya good! Seriously, it's not a painful experience or anything, just bunches up the shorts. It may be worse for ladies over the guys.

The ones people complain about are Summit Plummet and Slush Gusher at BB, and Humunga Kowabunga at TL. Personally, I think it's a bit overblown. Yeah, it can ride the shorts up some, but it's not that big of a deal. My wife says the same thing for her, you get a bit of a wedgie, but nothing truly bad. Females to want to be sure their bikini top is tied tightly, I've heard stories about that. Slush Gusher you can catch air going over the second hump, the landing can hurt a little.

I also think it has a lot to do with body size/shape. By simple physics, larger people will gain more momentum and speed going down the hill. My kids barely go far at the bottom and aren't pressing down hard on the slide. I've seen some big dudes get some serious air on Slush Gusher (which makes for a rear end clenching landing) and then go flying through the slow down ramp at the bottom. Definitely wedgie potential there.

Thank you, BrianL and Klayfish for the wedgie report!!! I am on the petite side, so hopefully that will decrease the potential that I will experience an incapacitating wedgie. :)
