I'm wondering which Water Park is the best for adults out of the two at Disney or Volcano Bay at Universal?

I will only be able to go to one of them.

Thanks!

best for adults.... I feel Volcano Bay is less "cute." But in terms of rides, TL and Volcano Bay are similar. My DH prefers water parks at Disney because he can use Go-Pro on slides. But not at VB.

I've never been to Volcano Bay, so can't comment on it. But am very experienced at Disney water parks. It depends on what you like to do. Both Disney parks have a lot of similar things, but there are some key differences.

TL has a wave pool with incredibly large and powerful waves. If you love that stuff, then you need to go. The wave pool at BB is much more calm and serene, you can float on an inner tube in it...very relaxing. TL also has water slide "roller coasters" in Crush N Gusher. Then again, BB has Summit Plummet and Slush Gusher, which are two really tall slides, TL only has Humunga Kowabunga. It's a toss up, IMO, but I'd very slightly favor TL because of the wave pool.

Hi I have been to all 3. I think for Disney water parks Blizzard Beach is better than Typhoon Lagoon for slides. We found Typhoon Lagoon not as adventurous. If you want to go over to Universal Volcano Bay it is great! The rides are more intense and fun than both Disney Parks. It is different in terms of Tapu Tapu where you will have to do a ride reservation system for most of the rides. In the summer unless you get there very early at opening you may not ride as much as you had hoped. If you want to ride some sides, do a lazy river than a fearless river and a wave pool too Volcano Bay is good. We went first thing in the morning last summer and got to do rides then but it gets busy late morning. I would go over to the Universal board and Islands of adventure thread. In there is a whole thread dedicated to Volcano Bay. I have a lot of posts in there. There is good information. It was started last year when they opened.
Good luck!

I have never been to Volcano Bay either but my family always preferred TL to BB. I think it has a lot to do with the theme. BB looks like home to us. If I want to ride a chair lift all I have to do is head on over to the ski resort that is 10 minutes from my house. But palm trees are a novelty for us. Also, we always felt shade was more plentiful at TL than BB and we are pasty white northerners. Shade is our friend.

It is true, Summit Plummet and Slush Gusher are at BB and are fun but I'll tell you, the bigger I get the more those slide hurt my back. I didn't notice it as a kid but as an adult I really do. Humunga Kowabunga is shorter than Summit Plummet but the idea is the same. No matter which you choose be sure your bathing suit is securely fastened and that you keep your ankles crossed and squeezed together tight. Wardrobe malfunctions are not uncommon on these slides.

The lazy river is longer at BB but I think we all still prefer the lazy river at TL. Like Klayfish mentioned the wave pool at TL is really cool. Do NOT underestimate the power of the waves though. Also, water shoes are good, the bottom is rough.

In years past I would have said the family tube ride at BB is much better than the one at TL but Misadventure Falls at TL is a blast and has the added benefit of taking you up to the top in your tube. You get in the tube at the bottom and the life guards steer you over to a conveyor belt that takes you up to the top. You can't put a price on that lol.

Crush n' Gusher at TL is a blast. That is our favorite water park ride anywhere.

Really though, either one is good. If you are water park people you will have a good time at either.

We have some "connections" to Universal...so we may hit Volcano Bay this summer. Have zero interest in the theme parks, but definitely do in the water park.

VB is a fun water park. Hope the craziness has been down since last summer. Have a good time!

Yes...Summit Plummet and Slush Gusher can be rough on your back, especially Slush Gusher. I'm not a big guy, I don't weigh a lot...so I don't build up a ton of momentum. But even I get a little airborne over the second hump. That landing can be a bit rough. But it's still awesome. Since I'm a guy, no worries about wardrobe malfunctions, just a bit of a wedgie.

TL wavepool is super cool, but yeah, it's super powerful. It'll knock you over in a heartbeat if you aren't ready or aren't a strong swimmer. But it's OK if you aren't, just stay in the shallow area, it's fine (in fact there's a kiddie play area off to one side of it).
