CAn you tell me what kind of water bottles you suggest for DD3 and DD6, and where you bought them? :confused3 I was not going to bring anything but now I am re-thinking that. We are staying at the POP and I am not going to pay extra for the fridge just to freeze water bottles. Any thoughts you can give me would be great.
This is our family's first trip to WDW...4 days and couting. I am going crazy (in a good way) reading these boards. :earseek: I am addicted!!!!!!!! I have gotten SO many great tips! THANK YOU :Pinkbounc

I am bumping this because the New Posts and Search were off yesterday...I am hoping that is why no one answered me.
I fount some bottles at Eckerd with an insulated cover ans shoulder strap but the top of the bottle is the size of a regular water bottle so you could no get ice in it from an ice machine.
Any help...3 days and counting!!!!! :Pinkbounc

I will say that I've had trouble recently finding water bottles with a large enough opening for ice. They are around, but difficult to find, so check everywhere, including the camping section of sporting goods stores.

Would something like this: http://www.bisondesigns.com/catalog/metro_3163166.htm work?

I have seen this type of bottle at Target in the seasonal area (where they sell beach toys and plastic picnic/outdoor stuff). Some of them even come with the insert that you can freeze so it looks like the opening would be big enough to fit ice into.

hth!

I suggest going to WalMart, they have a nice selection of bottles with insulated covers with straps. We have a two quart of this type, and several smaller ones. Our past few trips we have use bottles by Rubbermaid that are about 1qt in size, have an insulated cover with a carrying strap, and the mouth is wide enough for ice. Last year I purchased two of these at Dollar Tree.

My kids don't like to carry much and we are out of the stroller days so I don't bring in water. I get each ddl a water bottle strap as a souvineer at the beginning of the trip. IIRC about 5.00 at the water stands and also a small water. Then they wear the strap and bottle (empty or full) to the park every day. I refill them from the restaurants with cold water or with the large water or lemonade for all three of us to share. This way its no problem if it is lost or left behind I just buy a new water bottle to refill. They love the straps to use at home as well and often use them for sports, picnics, the zoo and local amusement parks.

I also bring a small zip lock with some koolaid powder to make some lemonade or gatorade with the water - cheap and easy and no waiting in lines.

Once the girls were out of diapers I really scaled down what I carry in the parks. By sharing snacks and drinks I find I don't really spend much more than I did when I brought a lot of stuff. Generally the soda/water/lemonade gets warm so fast we don't each drink a whole serving unless at lunch or dinnner. By splitting it into each person's bottle we drink it cold and don't waste. Even when I brought in snacks they wanted the popcorn, iciees and mickey bars anyway so why carry it??

Hi -

I just re-read your post and noticed your kids are still fairly young. Why not use a playtex insulated sports type cup. You can have it spillproof for the 3yo and "regular" for the 6yo. My kids loved these, I wish they were inuslated when they were little. My SIL has found the best stuff for my neice and nephew and she used these on our last trip, actually my 7yo used one of hers quite a bit as well. FWIW the wdw water bottle strap I mentioned before did fit on the sports type playtex cup - dear nephew had to have what his cousins had!

I found this link and I have seen these at the supermarket, wallmart and target.

Have a great trip.

Thanks for all the input. I found some today at Target that had a fairly wide opening, at least you could fit ice cubes in it from the ice maker. I just bought 2 for us to all share for the same reasons you mention. They didn't have shoulder straps but they did have hand straps and a clip to we will hook it on the backpack or stroller.

TJ, Great idea about the Palytex cups, I never even thought of it. Now that my youngest is 3, I think I forget about the toddler stuff that really comes in handy.

Thanks again to everyone. We cannot wait for our trip! :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc

Also, remember you can get a cup of ice at most counter service restaurants for FREE. That way you can cool down the water if you need to.

We use the Brita water filtration bottles for the kids. I carry them in our bag that we hang on the stroller. They are great and make the water taste so much better! You can buy them at Wal-Mart on the aisle with the water filters.

I guess I am too late, but we also used the Brita water bottles. We use them now almost every time we are out of the house - they are AWESOME!!!!
