Getting ready for another trip.. I usually bring only my sneakers and one dressier pair of shoes for meals. This time I'd really like to try walking sandals but I have no idea what kind. I'd like recommendations from others on what they have and also if anybody with flat feet has had success with anything other than sneakers.

THANKS!!!

Tevas are nice, except I could never wear mine in the parks because they make my 3rd and 4th toes go numb (there is a name for this condition, can't remember it at the moment).

I've also heard good things about Chacos, which are also sports sandals. They are a bit more expensive than Tevas.

I also have a pair of Birkenstocks, which are very, very comfortable! Tennies have always worked well for me at the parks, so I've never tried sandals. If I had to wear sandals, I would probably go for Birkenstocks with a back strap.

Many on the boards swear by Crocs, which are kinda sandal-ish, depending on what kind you buy.

St. Barts by Keen. They're about half price right now, too, at zappos.com.

I love my Tevas. I was always a sneakers gal, but got Tevas on sale somewhere and wore them when we were at WDW in July. They were perfect for me.

Which type of Teva do you have?

SAS handdown! I only wear sandals, NICE sandals but they are so comfy I can wear them all over Disney without any problems. I have a white pair, khaki pair and black pair. For my holiday outfit, I wore a very nice sequin top and black slacks and wore my black sas sandals and they didn't take away from the outfit in the least because they are so nice looking.

Just got back from 14 days in WDW.. Would swear by my Oakley's.. Most comfortable durable pair of sandals I have ever owned (I beleive they are called "Smoke").
my 2 cents worth anyways

My Birks with a back strap. They are SOOOOO Comfortable. I also have done gym shoes, but prefer my birkenstocks.

Birkenstocks for me! I wear them every single day when we are at disney. They are so comfortable!

Make sure, whatever kind of shoe you get, to break them in before your trip. A friend of mine made that mistake with a pair of sandals (don't know what kind) on our last trip. She waited to wear them until we got there and she was miserable.

I swear by my Teva Pretty Rugged leather sandals. No blisters for the past 4 or 5 trips of wearing them!

I also LOVE my Ecco Cosmos. Like walking on air.

I have great luck with Easy Spirit walking shoes and Easy spirit sandals. My plantar fascitis (sp?) is gone - and I think it has to do with Easy Spirit shoes!

I have to vote for Birkenstocks. Wore mine every day all day on last trip to WDW. They break in real nice and conform to your foot. Mine has the back strap which eliminates me flipping them off my feet! :earboy2:

I have a pair of Tevas, but don't like them near as well. They are waterproof which makes a difference if you plan to get real wet on some of the rides, but to me they are stiff and uncomfortable, and because the straps have so much velcro, they just never seem to soften up for me.

Birks all the way! :goodvibes

I love my Teva's. I took them on our trip last week, but it was just too cool to wear them!!

I've got a pair of Tevas that buckle like Chaco sandals do, so without the velcro they are much softer. I really like them!

I love my Keens - ANY Keens. I have the Newports, mary janes, clogs....VERY comfy. I also tried Chacos this past trip and liked them, too. I have worn my Birks, but prefer the support of Keens and Chacos - and they do better in sudden rain, too. I also shop Zappos and have been really happy with their service.

I wanted to subscribe to this thread and see what others' wear & recommened! I HATE the Crocs, though. :guilty: Both of my girls got HORRID blisters from them in the same places on their feet. They both switched to their Tevas and Keens and had happy feet for the rest of the trip. :flower:
