Best viewing spot for Illuminations?

What's your favorite spot and how early do you need to claim it? This is for next Monday.

I'm not interested in FP+ or anything involving a restaurant. Thanks!

There are virtually no bad spots and there is no "best" spot. Illuminations can be viewed from anywhere around the lagoon. You want to be upwind, so the smoke is not blowing towards you. You want to avoid a spot where an island is blocking your view of the Globe.
Some like it best from the bridge between France and the UK. I like it near Germany or Italy. From near Japan is nice as well.

I like the little landing near the bridge between France and the UK. Lowest level, right near the railing, towards the left side of the landing, gives a great view as long as the wind is not blowing toward you from the water. I try to get there between half an hour, and 45 minutes before Illuminations. Bring a snack and a drink, and enjoy the show.

The spots are limitless. Only thing you want is to have a clear sight of the lagoon and upwind from the smoke. Anytime we watch Illuminations we just find a spot about 5-10 min before the show and have always found a great spot.

We tend to always watch from the right side of the lagoon..Anywhere between Morocco and Canada.

I have also done the bridge between France and UK. We were staying at the Yacht club. It was easy to walk over around 8 and grab desert at France and then grab a stop at the bridge. Leaving at the end was nice also.

Another vote for the bridge between UK and France, right above where the Illumination cruise boats tie up. As long as the wind is blowing in the right direction. We usually get there about 30 minutes before the show.
