First timer here, well haven't been in 20 years so that makes me a first timer I think! Looking for dinner recommendations that would have good access to great viewing for Wishes fireworks. Or in general any light show fireworks viewing tips would be greatly appreciated as well. (btw where do I find out what times all the night shows are at?)
First of All Welcome to the DIS!!!

There are no great IN PARK restaurants for viewing Wishes. The best view is standing on Main Street.
If you want to see them while you eat you have a few choices. Many folks love the view from the CA Grille. It is on the 15th floor of the Contemporary Resort. It is 2 TS Credits if you are on the
DDP> You can see Wishes from many tables, and there is an outside viewing balconey. The view is skewed to the side however.
Also popular is the view from 'OHana at the Poly. It is 1 credit on the DDP. SOME tables have a good view, many do not. More popular is to view from the Poly beach outside.
Another choice is Narcoosee's at the Grand Floridian. It also is 2 TS credits on the DDP. Again, some tables have a good view of Wishes, but there is an outdoor balconey you can go to to see the fireworks.
At Epcot, Illuminations can be seen from the Rose & Crown Restaurant. There is outdoor patio seating which is great. However, it is only a request and everyone requests it. You very well may be seated inside. If this is the case, you can be escorted to a private outdoor viewing area to see Illuminations.
At the new La Hacienda in Mexico, a FEW tables have a spectacular view of Illuminations. Most do not. There is no other place to see it from, so I would not make an ADR here planning on being able to see Illuminations.
It is also best experienced outside around the Lagoon.
You can find the times of the nightly events on the official WDW website. Go to the hours calendar and click on the day and park you are interested in. It opens a window and you can see what time they are.
Have Fun
