So you have the Blue Bayou package as well as the River Bell terrace package. To thought I read you could upgrade the river bell package to patio seating with chairs and get drinks

What’s the best package the yalls opinion?

As usual, "the best" is completely subjective depending upon what you want. If you want a chair, then the RBT premium dining package is "the best" because it is the only package that gives you table seating (in a real chair) on the RBT patio during the show. If you have always wanted to dine inside POTC, then the BB package is "the best" because it is the only package that gives you this option. All three regular dining packages have viewing areas (ground seating only) up front by the water (great, totally immersive view) and all three sections are right next to each other (HB, BB, RBT -- in that order from left to right facing the water), so your choice really comes down to choice of venue atmosphere and menu items. You can look at menu choices here (Menus) and on the DLR website.

Do book the (completely separate) RBT premium dining package you'll have to call and book it specifically, you won't be able to upgrade your currently booked reservation to the package.

... I’ll go with RBT with the chair upgrade maybe

The trade off with the RBT Premium Package is that the view is further back and somewhat off to the right. For many people, this is totally worth it because of the chair. We prefer being up front and center, even if it means sitting on the ground. You can find photos on this forum if you do a search to see what the view is like from the regular dining package sections and from the RBT patio.

I’ve eaten inside the BB already. I’ll go with RBT with the chair upgrade maybe

We’ve never done any of the dining packages, but perhaps do a bit of research before booking the RBT patio seating option. We walked by last night and huge standing crowds were congregated in front of the patio. It seemed that would definitely affect an already so-so view. :scratchin This is probably something that would drive me nuts if I paid extra. Just a thought, but YMMV

As others have said, the RBT Premium Package is something you have to call and reserve specifically. There is only one seating per night (the website says 8:00 pm). From what I've read, you are pre-assigned a table, so you can't request a rail side or front row table at check-in. The view is so-so, but some folks really like having a normal chair to sit and watch the show from. The patio area is elevated slightly, so you can see over the guests standing/walking between you at the waterway, but some of the on-the-water elements may be partially blocked (I used to watch F! from that area before it became a dining package view area - back when RBT was a CS). There was a photo with the view in this thread.

The other dining packages all have viewing areas in the front. Blue Bayou is the most centered, with RBT on the right (when facing the island) and HB on the left. Usually the dining packages areas are ground seating (although there were intermittent reports that guest had to stand for the first show). The Blue Bayou viewing area is the most centered and it does offer a great view of the show. If you're up in the front, you won't have anyone blocking your view, but the railing does get in the way. If you're further back, the railing is less of an issue, but you might have guests between you and the show. This is the view from the front of the Blue Bayou viewing area.

Thanks for the info

Curious how early do you have to arrive for a close seat?

I think we arrived just after fireworks ended (we had the dining package FP for the second show). I can't remember the exact time, but we waited in the queue area for a bit before being allowed into the viewing area itself (they have to clear out the guests watching fireworks).

And in mid December I’m sure those crowds will be insane so which is why I’m thinking RBT preferred seating

As long as you have a package reservation (any of them), you'll be able to view F! from that package's designated viewing area. The RBT's Preferred Seating is certainly a viable option, just be sure to call as soon as possible because those packages are extremely limited (one seating per night). The only drawback I can think of is that it will be December, so there is a chance of bad/cold weather, which might make eat outdoors kind of tough.
