Best value when paying out of pocket

We're looking for a really good quality meal anywhere on Disney property. We'll be paying out of pocket. Sometimes I feel menu prices get jacked up and food quality suffers due to the dining plan. What are some "nice" restaurants you think are worth the expense?

We're considering Il Mulino or something of that ilk, and we like all kinds of food. We've already done Victoria & Albert's and want to try something new.

I don't mind paying high prices for a good meal, but we want a good experience.

I sense you are looking for a high quality dinner. My family LOVES Turf Club. Not the most expensive restaurant, but a bang-for-your-buck sort of restaurant.

May I recommend Jiko's? You will get a 1st class meal and then you can go outside and look at the animals on the savanna.

Jiko is one of our absolute favorite restaurants on property. We had an amazing meal all around - it's a gorgeous restaurant, the food is wonderful, they have a wonderful wine list, and service was outstanding.

All 3 are outstanding. No dining plans accepted, and no corners cut.

There were 5 of us in our party that just ate at the Boat House in DS. Based on the one experience, we were all very happy and are looking forward to going back. Server was great, so that helped, liked the atmosphere and everyone really liked the food. If you like the menu and prices are what you expect, it might be worth consideration.

*I believe they accept the dining plan as a signature restaurant but we didn't feel it made a difference.

I don't consider 'any' of the Disney restaurants worth the expense!! Not to say they're not good - but value for money is lots better in most of our area restaurants.
But, it's Disney - need I say more??
