Best value for the money TS restaurants when not on DDP

We are not using the DDP on our upcoming trip. Looking at some of the menus gives me a little sticker shock because it has been a few years since we have had a table-service heavy trip.

I'm wondering what some of the best bang-for-your buck table service restaurants are. For example, Kona breakfast is great and we've actually always spent less there than we do at the Trail's End buffet. We've had great meals at the Plaza in MK for a really reasonable final bill. We haven't been to Via Napoli, but it looks like if that place is good, then it will be a pretty reasonable price.

I'm not just looking for the cheapest table service restaurants, but the ones who have a high value for the price.

We have some really great ADRS scheduled (fireworks hour at Contemporary, V&A Queen's table, etc) and while we can pay for a lot of pricier meals, I'd rather go a little easy on the dining spending this trip. We have a lot of travel scheduled for 2017, and I'd like to plan an all-out, splurge trip in 2018 for our 20th anniversary. I have a feeling we've overlooked some restaurants in the past and I'm wondering if there are other places we should consider.
Thanks in advance!

Whilst I really don't have valuable information to interject-
I'm interested too!!

Sorry, OP, don't have too much to add, but I decided to chime because we have recently quit using the dining plan, and we too are doing ts restaurants OOP. We only have 2 or 3 must do restaurants that we book without ddp, so we have no problem paying for them. The rest is where we want and when we want, usually QS. So, I guess it's an individual thing. Do you want to eat TS every day? Or do you only want a few that are a value?
Can't help you there, as it is so subjective. But good luck.!

We enjoy Via Napoli, Beaches and Cream,Kona, Plaza and even Raglan Road is not too highly priced. My family has eaten at Trails End and really liked it. Another restaurant that does not get great reviews but we liked was Tonys.

My suggestions for value table service restaurants......

Via Napoli - You already said it but the pizza is amazing and easily shared
Raglan Road - Fun atmosphere and good pub food
Sanaa - Amazing food and while slightly expensive, its a value based on the quality alone. I'd start with the perfection that is their bread service and its so big you may be able to share an entree
Beaches and Cream, The Plaza, SciFi - All have typical burgers and sandwiches, but are done well at barely over counter service prices
Yak and Yeti - I think their entrees leave a little to be desired, but its a great place to share apps and of course have the perfect cream cheese wontons for dessert

I would say check out some of the new places over at Disney Springs. ALL of them look delicious to me, and all of the have some cheaper options along with the higher priced ones.

Boma breakfast is half the price of the other buffets. I changed my Chef Mickey ADR to Boma last night and I've heard that the food is way better. I thought Chef Mickey was great 10 years ago, but that's apparently it the case anymore.

I believe you were on a Swan/Dolphin thread, Violet, because you are staying there.

If you have a AAA card, all the casual restaurants there are 20% off. We enjoyed the Garden Grove on a Friday night, the Fountain, and Cabanas at the Dolphin pool. GG has characters every night, but on Friday and Saturday nights, it is a Seafood Sensation buffet. My family was very happy with the food there.

I have heard good things about Trattoria al Forno on the Boardwalk too.

One great thing about the Swan and Dolphin restaurants is that you can walk up to them. We have always found difficult and stressful to make ADRs on time, and now that there is a cancellation penalty, I really don't want to be bothered with them.

We have always found Raglan Road to be excellent value. Another good choice is Wolfgang Puck Express. This is a cross between a QS and a TS and priced accordingly. :)

That's correct! We're at the Beach Club followed by the Dolphin. :) I'm thrilled to hear that the Dolphin restaurants are good and flexible. I'm really stressing with ADRs this trip because we really just want to go with the flow for once. DH is also platinum with Starwood, so we get a few breakfast credits. We do have AAA, so this is a big perk.

These are all great suggestions because we haven't tried a lot of them. What does everyone think of Chefs de France? Also, to the pp who mentioned Boma: we ADORE Boma, although we have only been for dinner. :)

To VP--I think that Chefs de France can be very good, but inconsistent. We've dined there 3 times, one lunch and two dinners. Lunch and one dinner were excellent, but the other dinner, not so much. I would never order the chicken there again.

That said, the onion soup and creme brûlée were the best I ever had anywhere.

Kona is pretty good, and the a la carte options at Liberty Tree were all very good and topped out at a little over $20 each, not terrible.

50s prime time
sci fi
raglan road
plaza
rainforest
trex
paradiso
liberty tree lunch (NOT dinner)

These are some of the more reasonable places. Granted, reasonable in Disneyworld means $20-ish entrees, maybe under that for Sandwich items. I wouldn't call it cheap, but for on Disney Property is as good as it will get for Table Service.

I can't eat a huge meal so often times I prefer to order an app and dessert rather than an entrée.

Sci Fi. Everything we ate we liked. Kids split a Mickey check meal and it was enormous. Delicious shakes. Our server bent over backwards to split drinks, refill drinks, give to go cups, etc. Atmosphere makes the price seem very fair.

Kona Café, Wolfgang Puck Express, Via Napoli, the new Trattoria on Boardwalk (many entrees under $25), Tusker House for Breakfast or Lunch
