Best US showing in a non US hosted Winter Olympics ever

I had heard this a coupld days ago that once the US reached 18 total medals that it was the best US medal count ever in a non US hosted Winter Olympics. As of 2/24 they have 8 Gold, 9 Silver and 6 Bronze for 23 total medals.

Way to go USA.

I think that our athletes have done a fine job and, with a few exceptions, have represented the USA in a way that all of us can take pride in. I am annoyed with the media's attempt to portray Team USA's performance in a negative light.

It's funny how many articles that have been written about how bad the US olympic team has done, but yet they have there best outside US showing ever. However that doesn't get readers to buy papers, so I doubt you will see much about it.
