Best Universal Hotel for family of 5?

We're looking at adding 1 night at Universal at the beginning of our Fall Break trip. We want to stay on-site to take advantage of the Express Pass/early entry to Harry Potter, so the new hotel is not for us. Anyone stayed at one of the other three Universal resorts with five people in a room?

How old are the kids? All of the rooms will accept five people. You can get a cot for an extra $25 or bring an air mattress. There are also deluxe rooms at the Hard Rock that have two queen beds and a pullout.

We had five in a deluxe two queen at Portofino. Our kids are all teens. We picked PBR because of the extra square footage. Even though the upgrade was most in the bathroom, it was a great big huge bathroom that we could all maneuver around in! And we got a sofa bed so folding that down every day gave us the sitting space of a regular hotel room.

We stayed in a deluxe room at PBH last month. It was great. Unfortunately with the remodel last fall(?), the sofa beds were removed and replaced with a chair and ottoman. I asked when I booked my room if we can have a room with a sofa but I was told it was no longer an option.

Thanks for the input! Since we're looking at only spending one day there, we probably won't spend a ton of time at the resort itself but will definitely use the express pass. Since it's closer, I spent some time looking at HRH. Is the distance difference really that big?

Not really in the grand scheme of things. But PBR is the farthest at an extra 7 minutes walk or extra 3 minutes by river taxi.
