Best Typing Software?

Is one learn to type software the very best? Do any stand out as being expecially good for those who just 'aren't getting it' or likewise, are any more difficult than others?

We use Typing Tutor (versions 7 and 10) at my school and it has been pretty effective.

I think there might be different programs out there like typing to music, that might help getting over the block that happens. But most HS kids I have seen like MB because I think they can do things like car races with typing.

There's a Dreamcast game, "Typing of the Dead", where if you don't type fast enough, zombies attack you.

There's an online game called Typer Shark that's similar-- the shark eats you if you're a slow typist.

I think I used that back in the early 90's..I type pretty fast now

if you go to downloads.com and type in "keyboarding", you'll find several you can download for free to sample. You should be able to find the right one for your children's learning style.

Our elementary schools use "Type to Learn", and I bought a home version to use last summer. Actually, we've seen DS's keyboarding really improve since we allowed him to start IM'ing.... side benefit that we didn't expect ...
