Best Tshirt transfer paper?

I made a bunch of Tshirts for our last Disney trip, and I was thrilled with how they turned out. We got lots of compliments on them. I used Avery dark Tshirt transfer paper on dark shirts.

Unfortunately, the transfers began deteriorating after a couple of years of frequent use. I had been careful - washed the tshirts beforehand, always washed inside out, etc. - but still the paper started peeling off the shirts.

Lately I've seen recommendations for HP's transfer paper. I used Avery before because it was the only dark transfer paper I found. Have folks had better luck with HP paper? Or is there a better paper to buy? I was just bummed because the design didn't last as long as the shirts.

I've got all the designs and shirt combinations settled. I just need to decide on the paper to use. Any and all suggestions welcome.

Thanks!

Wow. If you have gotten that kind of wear out of them, then you did a lot better than I did! I used the kind of t-shirts recommended here. I used the brand of transfer papers recommended here. I followed the instructions that came with the transfer papers to the letter, and yet my shirts started peeling while still at Disney. That was during the first wear. After the first wash, they were all peeling off like crazy. Out of 18 shirts, we do not have any that we could wear more than once.:confused3 I wasted a huge amount of time and money. Well, I guess it wasn’t totally wasted since we enjoyed wearing the shirts while at Disney. I just wish I’d known ahead of time that they were a one-wear thing. I say stick with the Avery.

I've been using the transfers that AmyMickey sells for years and have had excellent results. I often wear a shirt I made in 2006 and it still looks great. You can order from her site at amymickey.com if you want to go that route.

Amy has the best transfers ever. Here is her site: www.amymickey.com to place an order. Do understand that even after a few years of wear, the designs will start to wear and crack. My problem is that I always get bleach on anything that I wear so I don't get to wear them more than a few special times, so I make the best of the time I have.

Another vote for AMYMICKEY. We STILL have all of our shirts from our trips and they all have held up great. I've never used Avery or HP (or anything else for that matter) and never will....If it aint broke, right?;)

I'm about to order another pack for our June US and IOA trip too!!

Amy.....You hearing all this?:goodvibes

Yet still another vote for Amymickey. Last week I made a shirt with her transfers for my DD and a friend made her DD a shirt with a transfer from a local store. My DD's shirt had much more vibrant colors. It was the same design on two different shirts and the transfers made all the difference.

Also, we are still using our t shirts we made from this past summer. We have not had any problems. :)

Another HUGE vote for Amy Mickey's transfer paper from us... We made lots of shirts for a trip 2+ years ago. They held up well. Some shirts are still being worn (our kids are young, so many are simply too small with how fast the kiddos grow). Some started cracking a bit - but only after lots and lots of washes... I wouldn't even try any other transfer paper. I've already purchased a bunch more from her to make shirts for our trip this fall! You won't be disappointed!

Thanks everyone for the rave reviews! It makes me so happy to know that I have helped so many of you.

I know that I personally tried so many different brands over a two year period and had many a share of disappointment. So, it is so nice to know I am saving people from some of the frustrations I had.

Here's another vote for AmyMickey's transfers! I have used many brands and hers are by far the best. They work for both white and dark and will last. Some have got to be a couple years old by now and washed at least 20-30 times and they are in great shape. I've never used transfers that have come close to this quality.
