I need your help, and the restaurant board is not helping me ;)

I have one more TS restaurant to pick for our September vacation. I would like to eat a one of the hotels, and would like a place with really good food but that is also pre-school kid friendly. We are just hanging by the pool that day so we will travel to any of the resorts.

Any suggestions? :listen:

Thanks!

I would TOTALLY go to 'Ohana at the Poly!!!!! That is my 2nd favorite meal in all of WDW. They have live entertainment with a ukelele player, hoola hoop and coconut races for the kids...and so much more!!!! If you're lucky, you can get a castle view table and if you time it right, you can see the fireworks from your dinner table!!!!!

MY VOTE IS 'OHANA!!!! :thumbsup2

I agree with OHANA. We took our then 1year old and 2 year old there last June and lets say that was the only relaxing meal we had all week. There was so much activity for them to watch. They also enjoyed the Whispering Canyon at the WL lodge.

good luck

There are three good places that I would recommend. 'Ohana at the Poly is great. The food is good and there is entertainment for the kids. They parade around the restaurant and play games. Whispering Canyon Cafe at the Wilderness lodge is also a great place for kids. The wait staff is funny, they also parade the kids around with those little pony sticks and I think the food is great. I crave the BBQ that they serve on the platter and can't wait to go back!! The last one is The Garden Grill in the Land at EPCOT. The restaurant revolves around the Land ride, so the scenery is very entertaining. The food is good, I think they grow alot of it there so it's very fresh. You are seated in your own half circle booth and it is much quietier (peaceful) then the other restaurants. I also believe it's a character dinner with Chip N Dale. It would still be a good choice without the characters. I think that as the quality of the food increase the "fun for kids" factor decreases. Hope this helps, have a great time!!

I'd recommend Whispering Canyon at the Wilderness Lodge. It's the quintessential Disney dining experience, with great food and great fun.

In 2004 we ate at the Trails End Restaurant (I think this was the name of it) at the Fort Wilderness Resort...it was very good. They had a dinner buffet that was pretty inexpensive for being a WDW restaurant and buffet. There were all kinds of foods for most everyones tastes. :stir: Pizza, carved meat, fried chicken, a salad bar, soup, desserts, etc. I really can't remember all the food there was but it was great for my picky dad, my picky 18mo old and myself (who is a bit on t he picky side!). :drinking:

Good luck!

While we have a number of TS meals in our itenerary, one thing I try to keep in mind is to use a buffet if I can. Not because the food is anything to rave about, but rather it's the general speed from the time you sit down until the time you're eating. I know with our DS, sometimes when he's hungry it seems that the kitchen is running at its slowest. He's definately not one to enjoy waiting 25 minutes until his dinner arrives. That being said, he is looking forward to the WCC and its bottomless milkshakes!

I answered over on your restaurant board thread.

If you are staying at the BC, I'd pick a restaurant close by. We find pool days to be as exhausting as anything, and I'm in no mood for a whole travel/experience after the endless lifting, swimming, carrying that is preschoolers and mommy in a pool.

Spoodles over at the Boardwalk, Cape May, Beaches and Cream would be the top of my list. Spoodles could be fun, its a short walk or boat ride over, then you can see the Boardwalk acts and visit another resort without really leaving yours. Just don't let your kids talk you into the surrey bikes - hard to pedal!

Thanks for all of your input.

I think we will pass on O'Hanas since we stayed at Poly last time during the hurricane and had to eat at O'Hanas for every meal for two days. It was good but we were a little sick of it by then. :bored:

WCC is a good choice. We actually made ADR there on our last trip but never got there. I actually made ressies there already for this night.

BUT...Crisi you make a good point. We are always tired after a pool day and maybe we should stick close to home. We are already eating at Cape May twice, so maybe i should try Spoodles instead of WCC.

Decisions, Decisions!

Whispering Canyon is really worth it - your kids will love the activities, the atmosphere - there are Lincoln Logs in the waiting area (though we've never had to wait) and the lobby at WL is amazing! The food is quite good - my kids loved the milkshakes too! Be sure to ask for ketchup!

Not sure if you have boys or girls, but one of our best meals last trip was at GF at with Cinderella, Fairy Godmother, Prince Charming, Suzy and Perla. The character interaction was great and we all really enjoyed the food. best buffet food we have had at Disney and we have eaten at Chef Mickey's and CP and numerous others. Just another thought, though it would involve some travel.

Well since my number one choice ('Ohana) is out, I would say either Whispering Canyone or 1900 Park Faire

Whispering Canyon is great for kids. The food is pretty standard...nothing weird to scare picky eaters. The waitstaff is fun and the dining room is pretty rowdy so any noisy little kid antics will go unnoticed. Also, the pony race and requests for ketchup/crayons kept my daughter busy enough that she wasn't sitting in her seat saying "I'm done" every 30 seconds like she does other places.
