So my cousin has decided to plan a trip with her DBF and is not interested in ADR's :scared1: , i have convinced her to look at some options, so i need some suggestions. I only look at character meals for my family so i have no idea what to suggest for non - character TS. any suggestions, good and bad!

When my best friend came home from Iraq we went on an adults only dinner to California Grill and it was one of the better meals we have had at the World. We timed it so we were able to watch the fireworks from the restaurant. It was great.

Jiko at AKL. Flying Fish at the Boardwalk. I'd take a look at all Signature restaurants, really.

Narcoosees is by far the best - must time it with fireworks! The food is great.

Depends on how fancy you want it.

We love Boma for a less expensive good meal.

We love Flying Fish for a more expensive meal.

ESPN club is also alot of fun for couples without kids, esp during football season. We had a great time here.

Another fav of ours pre kids was Portabello Yacht Club. Yummy Italian.

My young couple-no kid children would probably say that they like Ca Grill and JIKO the best for TS.

When you say "young adult" I tend to think that they might not have the funds for signature dining... but I am not sure. In any case, I would recommend Kona Cafe - it never fails to impress me.

I would recommend Flying Fish or California Grill for an expensive meal. Or Shulas over at the Dolphin if they like red meat. If they like beer, I would recommend the Biergarten in Germany (Epcot). It's a fun restaurant, but they will be seated "family style" with other people. San Angel Inn has mixed reviews, but it is a very romantic restaurant.

As a 25-year-old in a Disney-co-dependent relationship :-P here are my thoughts:

I second both Boma and Kona Cafe for great food, good atmosphere and not too expensive.

The atmosphere at California Grill is wonderful and everything, but we were completely underwhelmed by the food. I had a great glass of wine, but HATED my entree. (Some kind of so-called Gnocchi.)

I'd also recommend Brown Derby - for a cocktail and appetizers especially. Great atmosphere. I wasn't a fan of the "famous" cobb salad but I would go back again sometime when I'm not on DDP and try something different.

I'm 21 and went with my DBF (24) to WDW for the first time in August.

Our favourite place (as a nice sit down restaurant, great food, no quirks) was Kona Cafe. We just walked over to Tambu Lounge after finishing and had a couple of cocktails in the bar - it was really nice.

We loved the food in Raglan Road. As a buffet, I'd recommend Biergarten.

If they wanted somewhere more Disney and fun, WCC and 50s Prime Time. My Top Picks :teeth:

Thanks for the great suggestions! :thumbsup2

I am trying to convince them to do the dining plan. So most will be 1 TS service they will consider. I am going to try and work 1 2TS service for them at a special place but otherwise ! TS.

Definetly i will give them these options. thanks everyone :grouphug:

Just about anywhere in Epcot - San Angel Inn, Biergarten, Marrakesh, LeCellier, Chefs de France.

Lots of resort restaurants -Boatwrights, Kona, California Grill, etc.

DTD has lots too.

Spoodles is usually a pretty good 1 TS restaurant - or at least we've had pretty good luck with it.

ETA - I'd almost rather get the dining plan and do an every other night signature meal than eat every night at a one credit TS. I've become a food snob, and the 1 TS restaurants this trip were pretty disappointing - Spoodles wasn't bad.

you didn't give ages so I'll tell you what we liked. This past trip we were two twenty year olds, a 23 year old, and me, age 24. We really enjoy the character meals but as for the non-character meals, the best by far, on the whole trip was San Angel Inn in the Mexico Pavillion in Epcot. Coming in at a close 2nd was Coral Reef. Urge them to check out the menu's for all of the restaurants. You can find them on wdwinfo.com - there is a link on the left hand side of that page.

DH and I tend to do a lot of TS. And lately we travel without kids, and usually only do one character meal per trip.
Faves:

Artist Point at WL
Yachtsman Steakhouse at YC
San Angel Inn
LeCellier
Boma (not TS, but a really good buffet, and I love it but DH does not)
