We will be a party of12 with half being kids 3-8. What would you recommend for dinner in epcot on our first night?

Our kids like going to the Biergarten in Germany. The buffet is pretty good, and they have music and dancing (including the "chicken dance" and the kids have a ball.

Are you looking for a quick-serve type restaurant or a table-service restaurant? Cause that definitely makes a world of difference. Also if you're wanting a table service restaurant you definitely want to make reservations ASAP, especially since you have a party of 12.

I would suggest Sunshine Season Food Fair if you do want QS. It's great for picky eaters and getting seating for all 12 of you would be relatively easy.

As for TS, I would suggest either The Garden Grill (which is a character dining experience) or Coral Reef restaurant.

Hope that helps a little bit!

Our faves are::love:

Teppan Edo--food is yummy and my son ate up all his food from age 3 to 6 (last time he was there). The cooking is the show so they won't be bored! :rockband:
They sit the little ones on the ends of the table so they won't touch the hot cooking surface.

Garden Grill--Not sure of they do tables of 12 together, but awesome character dinner. Plus your restaurant rotates! family style food is actually very good and well made. they grow some of the meal there!

San Angel Inn--good food with awesome ambience. But it's less cool for 3 yo and really cool for the 5 and up crowd. Helps if they think volcanoes are cool. Don't expect Tex-Mex here--I've noticed most people who don't like this place judge it by On the Border.

My only thought against Biergarten is because it is a buffet you have to leave adults behind and drag your older kids through a buffet line and get their food and the food for the little kids. Then you drag yourself through and then the adults holding the table go through the line. you aren't "served" and to me it's work. And the way they sit you--it's really really really tight.

And like a previous poster said--Coral Reef is very entertaining for everyone! We tend to eat lunch there.

My suggestion would be Biergarten. It appeals to all ages, very kid friendly, and has better seating arrangements for you all to sit closer together. Unlike me, my kids prefer buffets, so that is also a plus. There's something there for everyone--great German favorites, plus your traditional standbys--chicken, macaroni, etc. The setting inside is fun, and there's also a dance floor that the kids (and adults) can get out and dance on while a band plays. Lots of fun!

We were a party of 12 and ate at Coral Reef. Kids sat at a table in front of the tank, we were just across in a booth. Food was good and kids had good time.

I see you have a 2yo and 5yo girls. If looking for princesses, then Akershus. It is nice because there is a menu vs. typical buffet. It does have a buffet, but not for your main meal, more like appetizers.

We really enjoyed Garden Grill. The tables are mostly booths, I think, but you could request to be seated next to each other. We had great character interactions and we really enjoyed the food. I don't like fish but I loved the fish there.

My kids really love Teppan Edo so much. They are mad that we are NOT eating there on our next trip!!!

Another vote for Biergarten. It is a lot of fun for all ages and actually the food is not only good it will suit most palates since it is a buffet. The band is also very entertaining and sometimes kids will go out and dance. Just a lot of fun and the setting is very cool!

If you think you might want to try a character meal give Garden Grill a chance. Not sure how they would accommodate a table of 12, but it is the best character interaction we have ever had. The food and service is also very good. Besides being a character meal it is also a rotating restaurant with scenes from Living with the Land.

Our kids like going to the Biergarten in Germany. The buffet is pretty good, and they have music and dancing (including the "chicken dance" and the kids have a ball.

This was, hand's down, DD's favorite restaurant! She loved the dancing, the pretzel bread and the deserts!
