Utterly amazing!

When I first posted my Unfinished Trip Reports Poll, a few people commented about Bob NC and wishing he would finish his latest trip report.

When I posted my Nominations For Best Trip Report post, I was flooded with votes for Bob NC.

And now, guess whos in the lead?

Not Bob NC!

Unbelievable!

I really thought Bob NC would just demolish the competition, but after just one week of voting, Kevin Stringer has a commanding lead with 44% of the votes!

Well, after two weeks of voting, I think we have a clear winner

Kevin Stringer !!!!!

I find this utterly amazing, and a complete upset! As I said before, after hearing so much praise for Bob NC, I really thought he would run away with the voting. But in the end of the readers spoke, and with over 43% of the votes, Kevin Stringer gets the title Best Trip Report Ever Written!

Congratulations!

And now, could we please have an acceptance speech Mr. Stringer? As soon as you get done sipping your victory beer, of course.

Bang! Bang! Bang!

Is this bl***y thing on? Whoops! Seems like it is!

Ladies and gentlemen it gives me great pleasure to welcome you all on this, the occassion of my daughters wedding........... hang on, that's the wrong speech.... (paper flies in all directions from various apertures) .... aah! there it is.....

Ladies and gentlemen, I am pleased beyond measure to accept this ....... thing ....... that you have chosen to bestow upon me. (sniff).
I would like to thank a few people who have been a great influence on me. Firstly, there is my old English teacher, Mr Hardcastle who once said to me 'You're in deep water now boy'. Admittedly it was just after I'd been caught attempting to peer through the window of the girls shower room, but I feel he knew that there was a writer in me just itching to get out. (or a pervert). (sob!)

Next, my loving family (blubber) who have given me so much support and my bank balance such a hammering over the difficult years of attempting to establish myself as the next Agatha Christie. I've always admired his work so much. (copious crying)

And finally to you, my loving (snivel) friends and readers (weep) without whom I would have nothing. (breaks down in a flood of tears)

I would just like to add that I will NEVER ask Gwyneth Paltrow for advice on how to write an acceptance speech again!

If I may be serious for a moment, thank you Mr Hambone (may I call you LT?) for organising this poll.
The best thing to come out of this for me is that I read every one of the reports from the other people nominated and enjoyed them all enormously.

One thing struck me - the reports covered just about every age group.

Joe's reports on the joys (and woes) of bringing a young child to WDW were a particular reminder of having done exactly that in the past.

Bob NC's 'adults only' report was so much fun I read it all in one sitting.

Finally Tombstone's report with his Mother-In-Law shows that Disney really is timeless.

Wonderful reports from Disney fans enjoying their WDW vacations and taking the time to entertain us with their reports.
Thank you all very much.

I certainly don't consider my efforts to be any better or more worthy than these fine works, but probably just had the edge in the voting due to an unfair advantage of having many fantastic friends on the UK Dis boards who probably voted for me out of pity as they know how much I sulk when I don't get what I want!

I am in hysterics reading that post! (and its relation to the real 100 dollar posts) We were just at the Dairy Queen last night and upon me asking how much the "speaker" said it was.. my DH said without a beat.."a hundred dollars". I have made him listen to all the trip reports as I read them to him. The reports were all fantastic! Thank you for sharing them with us and allowing us to laugh with you. Congrats Kevin for first place, and congrats to everyone else for the great entertainment!
