We just got home from our wonderful Disney trip!! I dont think that I would not have changed one thing about this vacation. We took my Dad and his friend with us cause my Dad has not been to Disney since 1975.
We arrived at the OKW on Saturday. Check in was a breeze. We stayed in a 1 bedroom, and was just so impressed with the size. We said in building 41 on Turtle pond on the second floor. The balcony had a round table big enough to fit the 4 of us. Every morning the ducks and birds and bunnys would come up to us to say hello. We were next to the pool and the bus stop was right down the street.
I was so impressed with every thing. We spent 4 nights at OKW and 1 night at the Villas at the Wilderness Lodge.
At the Wilderness Lodge we said in a 2 bedroom. The room was huge!! But the balcony was very very small, hardly enough room for 2. But because it was a 2 bedroom there was 2 balconies. Now I didnt think that a resort could get any better than the OKW, but I have to say that the Wilderness Lodge blew us all away. We even cancelled our day at MGM to say at the resort and enjoy everything it has to offer. The pools, the lake, the over all beauty. We took a boat ride on the lake and swam all day. We ate right at the Lodges resturant, the one off the lobby, it was a western style resturaunt, I cant think of the name but they yelled and shouted and everyone partisipated with the show they were putting on. It was so much fun! I love this resort and will stay there again.
The next day we went on the 3 day cruise!!! From the moment you stepped on the ship, you are soooo taken care of. From the waiters and waitress, to the room hostess. Everyone made us feel so important. It was great when we walked onto the ship, they announced our name and everyone clapped, then seeing Mickey at the top of the steps waving us almost did me in!!
Nassau and Paradise Island was our first stop and I must say, the Atlantis Resort is something to see!! We went on the Beach day tour and had a blast. I got my hair braided right there on the beach. I dont know if I would recommend this to you cause it really hurt and it took a long time. But I have really long hair and I was sick of it flying in my eyes. The Discover Atlantis was really cool, it was included in our beach day tour, I would recommend this.
Next day was Cast away Cay!!! I really thought this Island was wonderful. One tip however. They do have an adult only Beach. Keep in mind that it is very far way from the other beaches. You do take a tram there, Thank God. But the water was very very shallow. And because it was so clean and clear you could see all the little fish and sea animals. We set our chairs in the water and just relaxed. I would have liked it better if the water was a little deeper. I couldnt even float on my raft unless I went really far out. Try the family beach, I heard it was not very crowned since they have about 3 or 4 different beaches.
Well I didnt want this to be really long but here are some of my favorite things about my trip: 1- The towel animals that the room hostess made for us and left on our beds
2- The balcony at OKW
3- The food and wonderful service we received at Palo's on the cruise
4- Wilderness Lodge
5- Disneys boardwalk at night.
6-The safari ride at Animal Kingdom
7-Its a bugs life at Animal Kingdom
