Having only flown into LAX from Nashville, we will be flying into for the 1st time,Orange County airport and I was wondering what is the best way to get to the Disneyland Hotel from the airport? We really don't want to rent a car because we will mainly be going just for Disneyland except for a 1 day visit to Knottsberry farms. Thanks for any tips. Chip.

I took Airport Bus on my recent trip. It wasn't too bad and the price was OK ($18 round trip). Took about 20 minutes to get to the Disney area. The only drawback with them is that they only run once an hour (on the half hour) from the airport so, if you get your bags and get to the Ground Tranportation area at 12:35, you might find yourself waiting almost an hour. Next trip in December there will be three of us so instead of paying almost $60 for the bus we will probably just take a cab both ways since the cost should be close to the same or maybe a bit cheaper. You might want to look into Super Shuttle. I'm sure they have a website somewhere. They seemed to run pretty frequently from the airport and we saw them often around DLR. My guess is that they might have a better schedule than Airport Bus.

DW & I used Supershuttle through Disneyland Travel. It was great. Drivers were prompt & courteous. There were other groups with us on our shuttle, but it didn't take long at all either way. Orange County is very close to DL. I really don't know how much I payed since it was through DL Travel. ???

If there are only two of you I would suggest Supershuttle. I totally stay away from Airport Bus. I have had clients tell me on separate occasions that they forgot to close the luggage compartment door and lost luggage while driving down the highway. Plus they have way too many stops especially if you have to change buses to get to your particular hotel. Real pain in the butt. Now if there are 3-4 of you I would suggest a taxi cab. It will cost less than 3 doing the shuttle and the fastest way to get to your hotel. If you need a car for just one day got to guest relations at your hotel and they can reserve one for you and most likely have it delivered to the hotel and dropped off there. That is what we did since we wanted to hit Universal Studios for one day. We stayed at The Disneyland Hotel and they made it so easy for us and got us a great price.

I'd go with the Cab, it is only 14 miles from the airport to The Disneyland Hotel. You will have a direct route to the airport and if you are anything like I am when going to Disney....you want to get there as fast as possible, no additional stops on the way.

Enjoy your trip!
Diane

Just wanted to add something about Airport Bus. While I did say in my previous post that it took us about 20 minutes to get to the DLR area, I should add that we spent about 15 minutes waiting for the bus at the airport, had to stop at the transportation center to let them collect vouchers (didn't have to switch buses luckily), then had to drop people off at one of the "off-site" hotels before going to the Disney hotels. Altogether it cost us about an hour. Luckily time wasn't a factor for us. If time is a factor, or you just want to get to DLR sooner, then take a cab.

I just made a reservation from Orange County to my Anaheim hotel with Super Shuttle, and it is $10.75 pp each way. I took the Airport Bus from LAX to Anaheim two years ago - and waited a LONG time for the bus to come.

NancyIL how did you make the reservation online or by phone? Are they sending you a voucher or something? Can you pay with credit card when you get there or does it have to be cash. Sorry for all the questions, but I'm interested in taking the SuperShuttle in July. Thanks.

I called the 800# that is on Super Shuttle's web site. I could've paid in advance by credit card - but will pay when I take the shuttle. You can pay by cash or credit card.

<font color=navy>Just a note on Super Shuttle ... if you book roundtrip you'll get a slight discount.
