So we are 2 adults and 1 child flying into MCO and staying at Jambo House.
For this transfer, I was thinking of using Mears connect.

we will have 3 full-size cases and 3 hand luggage cases

Once our WDW stay is done we are going over to Vero beach and then eventually want to go from there back to MCO

who’s the best to use? I was thinking Uber but worried about the amount of luggage and the safety of using Uber. We would need a child seat if using Uber

Vero is almost a couple hours from Orlando. Not sure Uber drivers will travel that far outside their territory. Would you consider renting a car? Or maybe a car service would take you if pre planned.

Rent a car. Check with Mears MCO to Vero one way is almost $300. The rate is based on 4 hours. Your paying for the driver to get back.

Rental car should cost less

One way Mears is 285 for a sedan and 335 for a SUV. Gratuity is included.
Those are flat rates.

You can call other companies but Mears rates look good to me.

I really really don't want to rent a car though if Im honest.
We’ve stayed at VB many times. I would not even think of doing that without a rental car. In addition to the distance from WDW and MCO making non-car-rental options expensive, the resort itself has somewhat limited dining options. If you are staying more than two nights, you may well want to explore some of the off-site restaurants and a car will be needed for that. The resort itself is located along highway A1A in Wabasso Beach, roughly midway between dining options in Vero Beach proper to the south and Sebastian to the north.

Had a chat with the husband and we've decided we are going to rent a car.

Incredibly nervous as the American roads scare the life out of me.

We dont need a car while at WDW so to decide plan of action.

Maybe we could get a rental car at WDW but return it at the airport so we can then go straight to the airport after our Vero part of the holiday or to drop it back off at WDW and use the Mears connect again.

Very Beach is two hours outside of Orlando (107 miles), as mentioned by pp, most Ubers/Lyfts will not travel that far and even if a driver accepts your trip the fare will likely be extremely high.. If you are not renting a car, I would recommend also using Mears for your trip from WDW to Vero Beach.. You can book a private van with Mears at a flat rate as mentioned by pp, this would be your best option..

You might want to price multiple options and then decide based on cost and convenience.

Option 1: pick up rental car on site at WDW, return it to MCO airport after your Vero stay. Alamo/National/Enterprise are at the WDW Car Care Center. There is free shuttle transport from the WDW resorts to the CCC. Alternately, other major car rental operations are located at various of the partner hotels in the Hotel Plaza Blvd. area near Disney Springs. Use Disney transportation to either Disney Springs or Saratoga Springs and it’s a short walk from there to the various hotels and their car rental desks.

Option 2: pick up and return rental car at MCO airport. This will have greatest availability, so possibly less expensive for the rental itself. Cost savings is partially offset by cost of getting from your WDW resort to the airport. Also, probably additional time needed to pick up the car and possibly less convenient if all travelers and their luggage do the pick up and head directly to VB from the airport. Alternately, the driver can go to the airport to pick up the car, drive back to the resort to pick up luggage and other passengers, and head to VB from there. Either way, it’s less convenient and possibly more time intensive.

Option 3: pick up and return rental car on site at WDW, using whichever pick up location is most reasonable in cost and convenience per option 1. Add in the cost of transportation to get from resort to MCO. This strikes me as least attractive, because I don’t like spending the required time at the end of the trip to bypass the airport on the return from VB only to then pay for transport to get back to the airport.

We have used option 1 multiple times when adding a beach stay at the end of a WDW stay. The convenience always wins out even at modest added cost, if any. It’s hard to predict rental costs in the current travel environment, but I would definitely cost it out.
