I have been told many different things about each tower, but which one is the best one? And can you request a specific tower? Also, do rooms come with a refrigerator and coffee pot or do you have to request those? Thanks!

The Marina Tower, or the Sierra Tower I would say are the best.

Marina Tower- In the lobby where you check in. There is a disney store and a little convenient store that has all sorts of things you could need (tylenol, cough meds., etc. water, juice, snacks). You get the 'disney feel' in that tower. It walks right out to the pool and is connected to Goofy's Kitchen. A standard room faces the parking lot, but you get a full view of the fireworks from it and some of Fanstasmic's fireworks :cheer2: The other side is the pool view. We had a standard room and it had a couch, table with chair, vanity outside the bathroom, in the bathroom a tub and sink and the toilet in a seperate room with a door. My mom had a connecting room with us and it was smaller, no couch and no outside vanity. We both had 2 queen beds.

The Sierra Tower- I have never stayed in there. It is the closest to DTD, although the Marina Tower is right there also just isn't butt up to it like the Sierra Tower is. On one side the Sierra Tower faces DTD, I would think it would be noisey with the music and activity. I've read that if you get the higher floors it isn't so loud. You'd get fireworks with that view as well. The other side faces the pool.

The Bonita Tower is a bit farther, but not 'that' far. It has the beautiful waterfalls (which are super loud) on one side, no view of the pool. The other side, the side we were originally put in, faces another parking lot, which looked to be the CM's parking lot. It had another building off to the side that I'm not sure what it was? It was so loud over there with what we assumed was all the electical stuff to run the waterfalls. Loud constant humming like a generator. Not sure if it's in every room but our air conditioner was SO loud. It too had the outside vanity with tub and toilet in different rooms. There was more walking space between the bed and tv in these rooms. I would think that if you had the waterfall side it would be okay? The downstairs of this tower had a sitting area and vending machines with water/juices and ice cream.

Forgot to add- that every room does come with a fridge and a shelf to put stuff on, it is enclosed with the tv. You have to request a coffee maker. One couple told us it took them a day and a half of calling to finally get one so maybe when you check in tell them there.

I also wanted to add that it was really nice to get off the elevator in the Marina tower and have the stores right there when/if you needed something.

I'm a fan of the Sierra tower. I've stayed in the others and I love the pool view and being so close to walk over to the parks. Okay - so it really only saves your feet about 10 yards, but when you're hoofing it around parks all day, it's worth it!

Was the couch a daybed, large enough for an adult to sleep on? This is the type of room I need, with a separate vanity area. I think I would really prefer the Marina Tower (we have a standard view), so this would be perfect.

BTW, sorry to have heard about your problematic stay :sad1:. I think that things can go wrong no matter where you stay, and it sounds like that was a particularly bad day. From what I have read, it is not always that way so I am hoping for the best while we are there.

We absolutely LOVED our first stay at the DLH, so yes, more than likely a really bad day for the hotel :confused3 That was also the day that the Marina tower had no hot water, so I'm sure they were swamped with angry people, then they had ME to deal with :rolleyes1

I was told by several CM's that they do the room arrangements 2-3 days before your arrival and that I 'should' have called then to confirm my requests. As if I'd know that :sad2: When I made our reservations with the WDTC I made the request to be in the Marina tower so I thought I'd be okay with that. I'd call 3 days before just to be safe.

Yes, the couch was a daybed. The sheets and blanket and pillow are in the closet for it. It was long enough for an adult I would think, I never laid on it though, just used it to throw stuff on :earboy2: I'd ask about that too.

The sink in the bathroom also has room to put your stuff on and a very little shelf underneath to put stuff on too (hairspray, that kind of thing). Someone could easily get ready in there as well. The vanity area was a good size with a full length mirror, two people could get ready there. Under the vanity is all open so a good place to put extra stuff under.

And the beds really are great, comfy beds which is SO nice after a day at the parks.

I called my request over the phone for the Sierra tower. We have a 2 bedroom suite and are going the 3rd week of July. So hopefully we will get it. I also asked for a higher floor. Guess there is no way for me to know until we check in???

If you still have the number that you called, could you please give it to me? We leave a week after you do, so hopefully they will take my request too. Thanks!

You can have them put your reqests on your reservation, but from what I understand you should also call the hotel directly at (714)778-6600 a couple of days before you arrive; that is apparantly when they make the room assignments.

Yep, exactly what Karylrocks said. I'll be curious to see what they tell you when you call, so be sure to report back when you do ;) I was told this by 3 different CM's at the hotel.

We called, and they took our request for the mariana tower. They, of course, had to add that there is always the possibility that we may not get what we requested. But atleast we have a higher chance of getting it now; keeping our fingers crossed!!

We stayed in the Sierra Tower, DTD/park view, on the 9th floor this past May. This room was an upgrade. It had a refridgerator, coffee pot, iron/board. The beds were comfortable and the room very quiet. It was hot while we were there, so we returned to the room for a rest /swim in the afternoon. It was very nice. Without requesting it, we had daily turndown service! Room spruced up, fresh towels and chocolates on our pillows! I think you will be happy in any tower. One afternoon we watched a Bride exiting Cinderella's coach (coachmen and trumpet player included). They had a ceramony at the chapel and a small reception in the grassy area nearby! Just magical! On our last night, we watched the fireworks from our room.
