Best times to go to DLR in June 2025?

Hi,

My friend and I are thinking of going to DLR in June of 2025. I was wondering when the best times to go are. Would a weekend with a couple weekdays before to recover from jet lag be better than a Sunday to Friday? We are coming from the east coast. We would want to go in the first few of weeks in June to avoid the really hot weather. I can do low to mid 80's but once it hit high 80's to 90's I'm toast and would have to only go at night when it's cooler. We want to do 2 days one park per day and pride night or If available star wars night. If there are no special after hours events then we would do 3 day at the parks with 2 days at DL and one day at DCA. We would go early and stay maybe until 11:00am and then go back around 3pm for the parade. We both get tired easily so a break in the day will help us recharge. Going on rides would be what my friend would want to do and I would just soak up the ambiance, eat, shop, watch the shows, parades and meet characters. My knees prevent me from being able to get on and off rides. So what I'm basically asking is when is a good time to go to DLR in June. We are willing to go with average to above average crowds. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks so much. ☺️

I think the earlier in June the better, but be careful not to plan all of your days on Grad Nites. I'm not sure when they will announce dates for Pride Nite, etc.

Disneyland Resort Grad Nite will take place on select dates in May and June 2025:

May 9, 12, 18, 21, 22, 27, 28, 30

June 1, 4, 6, 8, 11, 13

As Pluto468 said, do consider the effects of Grad Nites. They are held at California Adventure and don't start until 9:00 p.m., but there are various GN ticket options that can increase the number of kids at DCA or even at DL earlier in the day.

Disney has removed this year's Pride Nite and Star Wars Nite dates from the DL website, but you can google around to find out what they were and make an educated guess about next year's dates. That would be great if you could go to one or both of those!

As for jet lag, remember, you're coming the "good" direction, in that you can sleep in by your standards and still make it to rope drop at DL all bright eyed while the locals are barely awake! Then the first day you could knock off early and either not go back to the parks or go back for a little while and hit the sack mid-evening. So I wouldn't sweat which days of the week you come.

If you really want to do some research, you could find (or guesstimate) the blockout dates for DL annual pass (Magic Key) holders. The dates vary by the level of the pass. There are apt to be more MK folks the last few days before a lengthy blockout and then again when the blockout is lifted. There's one Key whose holders might want to squeeze in a visit the first week of June 2025:

But I don't know how much that will affect overall park crowd levels. Others here have experienced those days directly and can comment on their experiences.

Disney has removed this year's Pride Nite
Pride was June 18 & 20 this year.

Regarding Magic Keys, Inspire & Believe have June open. Enchant's last weekdays are June 2-5, Imagine is blocked. I'm not sure that I would plan a trip around one the schedule of one MK. This year, the last week in May and first weekend in June were busy because it was the end of the So Cal pass. You won't know if they are going to offer that again until after the holidays.

Oh, only two nights?

I find it easier to visualize on the calendar, but thanks for the text summary.

Yeah, that's why I put it as a minor thing to check.

Oh right, that could affect crowd levels, too. Lots of moving parts!

Star Wars Nite dates
SW was April 16, 18, 23, 25, 30, May 2, 7 & 9, 2024

While Pride is only two nights, a lot of people travel for the event and spend multiple days in the parks. I'm not sure the same could be said for Sweetheart's Nite, Disney Channel Nite or Star Wars.

Ah, looks like they stop the SW nights just before they start grad nights, so no hope of Iris getting one in June.

Didn't know that. Maybe some people travel in for the SW nights? But the others are certainly more minor.

Hi,

Thank you for all your replies. We've decided to go in December instead of June. I was reminded of how the heat affects me when I'm walking. Heat + Me + Walking = A combination for disaster. The weather in December will be much better for both of us. Plus it's the Christmas season and that will be fun. I think my friend would rather go in Dec. because she's never been to DLR at Christmas and neither have I. I'm really looking forward to it and so is she. Thanks again everybody for the informative replies. ☺️
