Trying to decide on lunch or dinner at Coral Reef. Everyone says the kids love watching the divers in the tank. Anyone know what time they do this regularly? Are they seen more at lunch or dinner? I even saw a picture of Mickey in a scuba suit! How often does that happen?

We've booked for my DH to be one of the divers in the tank when we go in June. When I made the DiveQuest ressie, I was given the option of a 4:30 or 5:30 start time(I took the 4:30). Given the orientation video and spiel, plus time to suit up and gear up, I was told to expect him to enter the water between 5:30 and 6:00 p.m. That means the 5:30 divers would be into the water between 6:30 and 7:00 p.m.

We weren't given a dive time option for around lunch. So if there are any divers there at lunchtime, it would probably be CMs doing maintenance, etc. If you want the divers, book it for dinner. And as far as I can tell from the ressies, it is a daily occurence.

My DH has done DiveQuest twice, and both times he was only give a 4:30 or 5:30 time. They do have a staff of divers that train and clean the tank at other times...

shockingly with my username ;) we're doing dive quest at 4:30 on 12/14  we too were offered that or 5:30. that means that divers are in the water at about 5:15 and 6:15 for about 45 minutes. DH and I did dive quest in 2003 and we spend a bunch of time w/the family interacting but we also love that we're part of a lot of people's vacation videos taken while eating at coral reef!!

Have a great dive Scubamouse! My dh loves this, unfortunately he's not going to get in the water this trip. His dad and some other reletives are meeting us at WDW for a short stay, so he wanted more time with them. The DiveQuest program can eat up a lot of your Epcot time, especially if you take anyone "backstage" with you after the dive.

My son is doing the 4:30 dive this Saturday (12/3). He has done it the past 3 years for his birthday gift. He loves entertaining the people eating dinner.

The daily aquaseas "snuba" tour starts at 1230 daily. The surface diveres are usually in the tank sometime between 130-230. They are visible from the restaurant and can wave but stay at the surface.

Wow, that sounds great, I would love to see the divers in the tank! I didn't realize there were certain times to go in order to see them. Seeing Scuba Mickey would be awesome!

On another note, if you aren't able to get ADR's for those times, go anyway. I took my DK's (3 & 5) back in September and they loved it...even without the divers. The huge sea turtle was their favorite. I'd had doubts about trying this rest. with them, but I'm so glad we did!
