Best Time??

Okay, I am super super curious as to what is the BEST week to go too the parks if I am looking for low crowds, no major ride closures and no christmas haunted mansion lol. Thanks ahead for the responses!

We went the week prior to Thanksgiving 2006 which is known for low crowds and yes they were light, but MVMCP started before we left which might annoy you lol...

We go in early Jan now and it's dead but SPLASH has been closed. You may run into some type of closure whatever week you pick,

In short, I'd avoid summer: To hot, too crowded too rainy.
Avoid school vacation weeks and major holidays and you'll be happy

Yeah I am thinking third week of October is kind of the only choice, even though I really dislike the NBC haunted mansion overlay

Hot? Maybe, depends on where you're from and luck of the weather.

Crowded? Yep.

But rainy? No way. It almost never rains in the summer in SoCal.

May is the month for you Kristin! Here is why:

o lower crowds - especially before Memorial Day - but even Memorial Day weeekend seems to be pretty manageable according to trip reports

o ride availability - before Memorial Day it is still off-season so there is a chance of ride closures. However, Disney tries hard to get everything running by summer and usually that means they are done with major refurbs by May.

o weather - warmer, less rain, but still not as hot as summer - see "Detailed Weather History for DLR" www.disboards.com/showthread.php?p=23004158

o Crowds are moderate as schools are still in

o No HMH (NBC) overlay

Early June may also work for you for the above reasons.

I think you're confused ~ she's asking about DLR and you seem to be thinking about WDW.

iKristin ~ I agree, it sounds like May is the month for you, weekdays are always better but you'll want at least one weekend day if Fireworks, etc. are important to you.

I have found the best time was early February. There were zero line ups and I mean non whatsoever. I could have counted on 2 hands the amount of people in each line up we went on. We are heading there mid January and hoping for the same thing.

I have found the best time was early February. There were zero line ups and I mean non whatsoever. I could have counted on 2 hands the amount of people in each line up we went on. We are heading there mid January and hoping for the same thing.

In that there are usually major ride/show closures in February including Fantasmic and all the Rivers of America rides in 2010 then that would probably not be the best time for Kristin who prefers no major ride closures if possible.

And for someone like me who prefers no ride/show closures at all and warm weather with no rain then February is a not a good month either.

In the end though I think all of us would agree that any month at DLR is a good month - we are just talking about which months are better than others - based on our priorities.
