Need some advice on when to go to WDW in late 2005 early 2006. This will only be my second time to WDW and several first time visits for other family members. Last year we went in July and it was too hot! Everyone was miserable and cranky. My son didn't have a good time at all. He felt so sick that he hardly went on any rides.

I'm not sure when the rainy season is, which I'd like to avoid if at all possible and would like to try and plan this when the kids aren't in school. I know that may be asking for big crowds.

Are holidays busier than the summer?

We have made several trips in late October. The weather CAN be rainy and temperatures are unpredictable. I still think that's a great time to visit. Our school has moved the Fall break to the Columbus Day week which has made getting reservations tougher. I suspect the parks will be more crowded that week.

I've never been in September, but I know the rates are good then. I suspect it's still hot, though.

I would avoid the week after Christmas unless you REALLY like crowds. Earlier in the month would be better.

Right after labor day. Ok, maybe the end of September to get the kids immersed in school a bit. I've been there in September about 7 or 8 times. As soon as labor day hits the parks empty out like you wouldn't believe. It's still warm enough out to enjoy the water rides, but you move through lines and onto rides so quick that if it is still really hot you won't feel it as much. Trust me. Explain to the teachers that you don't make this trip often and want to make the most out of it. Get a list of the work your kids will be missing and make sure they get it all done on vacation. You'll be surprised. Most teachers will give a small bit of work and say, "have a great time".

We have gone in February, May, Sept., Oct., and the middle of November and I have to say I love November the best. The weather is great and no horrendous lines. We will be heading there this November w/our 2 teenage boys and twin daughers that will be 22 months then. I can't wait :bounce: - WE ARE BIG DISNEY FANS!!!!!

I voted for October...I will be taking my DD October 2005! The weather is generally good and they have the Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Parties then. I've never been to one but have heard so many good things about them that DD and I will be going for sure! If you can go any time during October, I would probably choose the week before Columbus Day, or the week before Halloween...crowds are heavier during Columbus Day I've heard (though that's when we'll be there).

We always loved October...until we went in May! We went the 2nd week of May this year and it was WONDERFUL! The weather was great, crowds were light...just perfect!

We went in June once (3rd week)...never again. It poured every single day, all day long. It was a very soggy and sad experience!!

I ended up pulling my third grader out of school this year. Luckily, once we got back, he only had 3 weeks left.

My vote is for early-mid May.

I'm pretty sure when we go, we'll be going during Thanksgiving. I'd like to go down the Saturday before and avoid some of the crowds.

Does anyone know if its too crowded right before Thanksgiving?
