Okay, all you disney experts out there. I know this has probably been asked before and if so I guess I missed it. What month is the BEST TIME to go to visit WDW? Please give reason why. I have been spring, summer, fall and winter and could not give an exact month as to when it is best so I thought I would throw this out to the experts.;)

For us it's summer, without question. We started going in summer to avoid taking DD out of school, but have since learned to love it alot. There's more attractions open, more parades and shows running, the hours are, or at least used to be, longer. The crowds can be heavy, but it lends to a more festive atmosphere. Fastpass has improved the summer wait times immensely. And you can't beat a waterpark or hotel pool when it's 95 degrees and 100% humidity. :D

We have visited in June, July, August, November, December, January, February and April. Being from Chicago, and suffering with sub-par weather most of the year, I'd say February, April and (very early) June are the best times weather wise. As far as crowds, these times are pretty crowd free. There are different things to experience no matter what time of the year you visit.

I vote for October. The crowds are lower, the weather is milder (not sweltering, but swimming is still an option), and then there are the events!:

1) MNSSHP is absolutely my (and DD5) favorite Disney event ever! Tons of rides, trick-or-treating, costumes, parades, fireworks, shows, face-painting, dancing, etc. And, the main thing my daughter talks about year-round: the Headless Horseman!

2) Disney Golf Classic - well, this one is just for us golf nuts

3) Epcot Food & Wine Festival - great "grown-up" event. Strolling through Epcot, trying lots of new foods, beers and wines; great music; and capped-off by Illuminations. Always a pleasant evening.

Just my two cents!

My son & I enjoy going in December, from around the 5th though the week before Christmas.
1) The crowds are great! We have always went on the rides multiple times.

2) The Christmas decorations are beautiful!!!!!!!! They start decorating in November. Sometimes you can see the decorations going up.

3) Gorgeous weather - We're from Nebraska so the weather is just right for us.

4) Mickeys Very Merry Christmas Party!!!!! Free hot cocoa, free family photo, love the atmosphere.

5) They usually film the Christmas Parade the first weekend of the month. Last year my son got great pictures of Regis & Kelly.

I hope this helps.

:p

I'm a September person. I don't mind the blistering heat, in fact, it wouldn't feel like "Disney" to me if it wasn't hot. It's the crowds that melt me down more than anything. Since September is so mild in the crowd department, it has become my favorite time of the year.

I vote Summer. We went in July once and LOVED it. We also went early Sept and it wasnt the festive summer getaway it was in July. We loved being able to stay out late in July, and sleep in. Other times of the year we had to be up at the crack of dawn to make it to a park open, because the park was only open for 8 hours. We also love the amount of activities going on. On our last trip we missed a lot of them because we got there on a Saturday, and didnt go to a park, and left the following Friday. So no parades, or fireworks.:(

October is my favorite month. It is still warm enough to swim but you might get a few cool refreshing days. Less rain too.

Another October-lover here. I like being able to enjoy weather warm enough to swim, without having the sweltering heat while I'm waiting in lines.

Lower crowd level, great weather. And MNSSHP and the F&W Festival to top it all off!! May runs a close second.
