Best time to visit

Ok so I am sadly posting this from cabin 2818 at fort wilderness. We planned and planned for this so our disabled daughter could see all the Halloween lights, do mickeys not so scary and trick or treat. The Friday before we left ahe qat in the hospital. We thought all was well. Now today we ended up at nemours orlando. Poor girl has missed out on our special trip. No trick or treating she only made it through one loop at 2000 where all of her aunts and cousins are staying and we had to take her back. Shes supposed to have breakfast with the princesses tomorrow. She has cerebral palsy and is having very severe muscle spasms. Poor baby is now on high doses of meds to keep her calm but also asleep. We have got to figure out how to have a redo for her . When is the best time to visit. We've got park tickets now that will go to waste because we have been unable to go because shes been so sick. Cp sucks.

I’m so sorry to hear about your daughter and also the trip not turning out as you expected.

I have no idea if this would work or not but have you considered speaking with the desk manager there and seeing if there is something the could do with your unused park tickets for your next trip? It seems like a situation like this would warrant a little pixie dust.

Sorry to hear you are going through that! We have ended up at Nemours too with our special needs son, and it’s no fun. Hope they are taking good care of all of you!

If you can still swing it, the first week of December gives you a good chance for nice weather, lower crowds, and festive atmosphere. Lots of fun, special things going on in the parks. January and February have some great discounts available right now if you are willing to chance some chillier temps. Late April and early May are ok, but crowds are higher and temps are starting to get hot. If you are still in WDW, you can look into a bounce back discount to help reduce costs too.

I would definitely speak to a manager too. I don’t know what’s possible (if they can “reset” your tickets, cancel your breakfast without penalty, help rebook the room you want for a future time, etc), but I would explain the situation and see if anything can be done. I don’t have family with ongoing health problems, and I know a lot of the options I’ve suggested aren’t official policy, but I imagine if there’s anything Disney can do to make your daughters next trip special, they will.

I am so sorry that you are dealing with this! I would absolutely speak with guest relations and see what can be done as far as helping you out with your tickets, since you have documentation that she is clearly in the hospital and there was no way to use them. It's absolutely worth a shot, you may just get a pleasant surprise.
