Best time to visit?

We travel to WDW at least once or twice a year. This year we are thinking of visiting DL. (my DH likes DL better) We haven't been since 2005. Can someone tell me when the best time to visit is? We are very flexible and would never travel in the summertime. Thanks!

i would say right before the busy summer months or right after the summer months before the holidays.

Late Sept and Oct and also Feb. Feb can have a greater chance of rain though. We went the last week in Oct 3 years ago and loved it. The crowds were very low, esp mid week and they have the Mickey Not so Scary party at DCA. But stay away from Holiday weekends, they are busier.

We love New Years! Disneyland gets MOBBED on 12/31 (we switch over to DCA around 6ish) but the parks are practically empty on 1/1. We do an annual trip (except we missed 08 and will probably miss 09 ) with friends and have lunch at Club 33, watch fireworks from the plaza at DCA and enjoy the Christmas decorations that are all still up.

We have been at the end of June, right at CHristmas and the week before Halloween....

Didn't enjoy the Christmas crowds at ALL! Loved both of the other times... we are heading out in less then 10 days... hopefully the crowds will be low..

First week of Dec. We went there last Dec. 5-8, and it was perfect. All of the Christmas stuff was up and in full swing, but the parks were not crowded at all. It was the best trip we have ever had, and we go to DL at least 2-3 times a year.

The weather was great, too. Cool, but not super cold. The decorations were beyond my expectations!

I second the advice for the 1st week in Dec. We went last year and it was great! I would also suggest make sure to go during the week and not weekend. During the week the longest line was about 15 minutes. And we walked right on quite a few rides, especially in the morning. A few rides doubled that time on the weekend. Plus the wonderful Christmas decorations. Those can't be beat. Ever since that trip I have been telling everyone that they have to do DL during Christmas at least once in their life!
