Best time to visit in the fall?

I’m another that tends to book late Aug or the first week in Sep for the lower crowds. It’s indeed ridiculously hot and humid (although living in Hawaii, the humidity is similar. We just make sure we bring lots of liquid IV, cooling towels, and fan! We also make sure to take a midday break to avoid the worst heat of the day. I’ll trade low crowds for heat any day!

@cruisehopeful you will need to define month wise what you consider to be Fall and why you want that time for anyone to be able to competently help you.

I’m going to assume you mean Sept-Nov…
A sweet spot of low crowds, cooler weather, holiday of any type decor and low airport crowds does not exist. There is a sweet spot of maybe nice weather in mid-Nov before T-Day but travel crowds at airports for T-Day start ramping by Thursday/Friday before T-Day. It’s always crowded at Disney now, you kinda pick between crowded, really crowded and what the heck was I thinking?!crowded. Mid-Nov will be crowded/really crowded. What The Heck Was I Thinking crowds won’t hit until the weekend before T-Day.

I’m assuming being from CA Sept is out? (I assume that because FL is insanely humid making 80 feel like 100 to me. I’m used to 100+ in CA all summer long- but we’re a dry heat. The humidity of FL adds like 15-20 degrees to my internal real feel thermometer.) If you have experience in extreme humidity and don’t care that it’s peak hurricane season (hurricanes can happen in Nov too but they are rare) Labor Day will be the cheapest and least crowded option. But I highly caution against it for a first trip if you don’t have experience in that type of weather yet.

I'm thinking September through December. The only reason that's the best timeframe is because of my DVC use year. I'd rather go for Feb/March, and I will once in a while, but it's a really bad time if I have to cancel and rebook for any reason.

I have been to Hawaii in the hot and humid summer, but we're always doing water stuff there and not standing in a long lines all day. I'll be in WDW this coming August, but not doing any parks.

DH loves the summer and would go all the time. He loves the heat. Crowd-wide, IMO, the last bit of September. Weather-wise I have always enjoyed the 3rd week in October. I don't like to be gone over a holiday so October into November is out. We've gone a few times, just this past November, on November 1 and have been plagued by either bad weather (flying out) or terrible DVC studio availability. I also enjoy the 2nd week of December but it is chilly (which I like and DH does not). The week before Thanksgiving is pretty good weather and crowds but it needs to be booked early.

Our sweet spot is mid-October - warm enough for DH and cool enough for me. We're no longer big on F&W but I do enjoy the WS in the evening. In October the WS lights don't come on until 8:30p.
