Best Time to Visit Disney World

The only time my kids have activities is summertime, I am one of those parents that doesn’t care about pulling them out for a week. I just make sure to get all of their stuff that they will be doing at school the week before and have them completed early. I agree not All families are activity centric, My kids are only in activities during the summer to keep them out of trouble lol
Your high school will give students work early? That’s kind of a lot to ask. What about science labs? Exams? One of my kids (very type A) missed some weeks in HS due to an overseas dance competition, she informed all of her teachers and coaches, but it meant a lot of time getting work done at the hotel, and at least 3 weeks to make it all up.

Here in Minnesota at least where we live most of their work that has to be completed and needs to be done at school, and I know the last week of May is usually when they are things that they can’t miss and the beginning of May there aren’t a ton of assignments so that’s kind of where I’m leaning towards, I have had the conversation with my teens and they don’t mind the extra work so long as they don’t have to worry about it on vacation

we are going first week of December and staying at Pop preferred. Stayed at pop our last trip and while not fancy the beds were comfortable and rooms spacious. Also can not beat the convivence of the skyliner.

My kids did take mostly honors/AP classes, had varsity practices after school, and had hours every night.

when we did it with my kids in high school the teachers did'nt have an issue with it but we did plan it for period of time when a new semester was just a couple weeks in so there weren't any impending mid-terms or projects looming.

if it were present day it might be even easier for a teacher to provide assignments WAY ahead of time b/c of one of the more recent 'innovations' in education that's come to our neck of the woods I think it's crazy but the way I understand the mandate by the powers that be-all classes have to be teaching the identical material on the identical time-line. this means that for elementary-all subjects taught at the same time of day AND the identical material/assignments/method of instruction district wide during that single time period. for high school every single subject class must cover the same material on the same day/within the same time allotment-district wide. in theory the desired outcome is if a student were lifted out of their classroom and plopped into a chair in another of the same grade or high school subject there would be no difference in what they were hearing/being shown/doing. for months the teachers had to work on designing and aligning identical assignment plans, presentations, handouts, testing scheduals...(I can't fathom how they do things when a lab is needed and there's only one at a school but all 3 3rd grade classes need it at the same time). no room to review/reinforce if your class is not catching on, no room to move faster/enhance or supplement if your class is mastering and could benefit but it's all very 'equitable and equal education' :sad2:

so yeah, here you could literally ask a teacher today what they will be instructing on a specific day and specific hour for the remainder of the school year and they could provide you with the materials. for the following year they would have it locked in place a couple of months before classes start.

My best weather trips have always been late February thru April. I also love going in October for the Halloween party, but it has rained on me every single time. Last year I went in September and it was hotter than Hades, 10/10 do not recommend.
I have not stayed at any of those resorts, but I've heard that the All Stars Music family suites have 2 bathrooms which could help save some time and squabbling with multiple teens. Or keep one bathroom to yourself and make them all share the other!
I'm so glad to hear this! We are going in the beginning of April this year!
