Best time to try for MM's Fantasmic pkg?

It depends on what time the show is that evening. We are going in a few weeks (:yay:) and the show is at 8:30. The latest time to book the F! Dinner package was, I believe, 5:00. That is the premium time. Some packages are as early as 3:30! We got a 4:35 this time which is in the "perfect" zone for us. I was trying to score the 5:00. I got it last year!

I was told the latest the package is offered is 5pm. We got pretty lucky and have a 4:45pm reservation at MM.

we're going in January when Fantasmic showing is at 6:30 p.m. The latest seating for the dinner package for that early a show was 4:00, according to the CM I talked to, I still was able to get a 3:55, which was OK...we probably won't get done until after 5:00, so then we'll be able to take a very leisurely stroll over to the theater, maybe even do a little shopping on the way. I hate having a huge meal & then having to dash to the show, although it's a joy after a long day in the parks to have a nice sit for an hour at the theater.

We are going in early feb and I believe the show was scheduled for 6??? So aim for one of the latest times offered? I love Fantasmic but I don't want to waste too much time sitting around waiting for it...I've never done the pkg. so I have no idea what to expect:confused3

Thanks for the replies!

Generally, the latest schedule reservations for the package will be 2 1/2 hours before the show because they want to make sure you are done at least 60-90 min. before the show starts. This is to make sure you have enough time to walk to the theater, and get in there on time. They will tell you to get to the theater (with your tickets) 45 to 60 minutes before the show. You don't want to "push it" because right around 30 minutes before the show starts they take the ropes off the reserved section & let some of the people in standing-room-only take any remaining seats. So if you showed up 20 min before the show with your tickets you'd be out of luck - no seats left.

The two main advantages to the package is you don't have to get in a massive line 90-120 min. before the show...there actually is a separate entrance just for ticket holders. And you're sure if you show up 45 min. ahead of time you WILL have a seat (we've been in the theater during slow times of the year when all the regular seats are gone at 45 min. before show time --the only empty seats were in the reserved section. If we did not have tickets, we would have been in the back of the standing room only section.) We have gone to Fantasmic in May and September - both at "slow" times and have actually seen hundreds of people in line for the first show on a 2-night show a full 2 hours before the show was to start. They opened the theater at 90 minutes before show time and it was just a steady stream of people into the main entrance...picture a slow-moving dense crowd of people, about 20 people across. (We were sitting on a park bench watching the crowd go by.)

And the other advantage is when the show's over--you're sitting over by the auxilliary exit (which is the way you came in, too) so when you leave, go out that same way you came in. The vast majority of people will go out the same way they came in -which is the main entrance -- so the main entrance will be mobbed with thousands of people trying to get out at once. You'll leave the way you came in, and actually get out onto the main street ahead of the main crowd...very handy if you're leaving the park then, because you'll be ahead of the huge crowd heading to the busses or parking lot trams.

Also, they have added lunch packages and we have enjoyed that when we are spending the whole day at HS anyway.
