Best time to make air ressies for May

My son & I will be traveling down 5/18 - 5/24/02. When do you all think the best time to make the airlines ressies is? So far USAir has a rate of $343 RT for both of us. I used to live in Clearwater & I think I remember that 1 RT ticket was usually in the $200 range. So I think that the $343 is a good price - yes? It's so hard to predict whether fares will go down - think I should go on & grab the rates? Thanks, as always, everybody for the advice.!!

Actually we just booked a May trip with USAirways -- they had a great $200 roundtrip fare from Harrisburg. Where are you traveling from?

HI Teena! for next may usair does not have any sales out yet...it will be coming but not for a few months yet.

When you search under flexible on the USAir site it doesn't come up but when you put in the dates in May, it came up -- so I ran down to the USAir office and got my tickets. She said the sale is for fares in May although they don't show up under the normal process. I know it was very strange but I have the tickets in hand.

A minute ago I just plugged in 5/4 to 5/11 again and it gave me the sale fare of $212. That is definitely a sale! Normal price is usually over $300.

USAirways has a roundtrip for those days - $171.50 which includes taxes, charges, etc. I'd grab them!!!

I planning a trip with my 5 yr old dd from 5/18 through 5/25 also! I'm so excited to find someone else planning the same timeslot at I am! I found roundtrip on USAIR for $171.50 from phila to orlando. I was going to hold out a while,but I THINK this is a fantastic fare...??? I'm trying to get a rental for under $150, any ideas anyone?

We are flying out of Philly on 5/11 and returning 5/18 already booked our tickets for then. We are staying on day longer (8) days to your (7) and our tickets are $195.50 ea. on USAir.
Can't wait.

Book now! Can't help you with the rental. We use Tiffany's to and from airport and then rely totally on Disney transportation. No driving is a vacation in itself for me!

I'd wait. I'm near Washington, DC and we go to WDW every May. I've been able to score great rates by purchasing in January or February. I've never paid more than $170 for a RT flight to MCO, and often I pay $140ish. We went last January because I scored $100 RT. I'm still proud of that! It was on either Delta or USAir.

so ahhhh Linda - whatcha gonna do? I think I'm going to wait for another few months to book, hopefully the fares won't go up, guess I'm taking a gamble but we'll see. . . . . I'm just a little about nervous about booking sooo early, get a case of the "what ifs" (what if something happens, etc.) let me know what you're going to do. BTW, where in NJ are you, we're near Cherry Hill. Happy deciding!!!

I have a hold on flights, because my mom is coming (age 62), she is able to get a sr rate of 155 and take one companion - my daughter for the same rate! My dh and I will pay 171. I don't think I can pass this up. I budgeted on $200 rt. The what ifs are scary but if something is going to happen it will whether I book now or in 2 months. I live in Lawrenceville (that's near Princeton and not to far from Trenton). Happy planning, this is so much fun!
P.S. I also noticed that on the return flights on May 25 (Mem day weekend) one flight is sold out already. This makes me nervous.
