I would go the 2nd week of December. Crowds are still pretty low then and there are more holiday decorations and activities than the 2nd week of November. We went the last week of Nov. last year and there were codes out. I got a really nice discount on our room. For your resort, I would choose WL. It has a very warm feel to it - perfect for the holidays. JMO
Both weeks are light on crowds.... 2 week of December has been reported as one of the lightest weeks of the year... But that has changed in the past couple of years... It has become a big week for DVC members and others... Both weeks will be about the same crowds wise....BUT may be better because all holiday activities will be up and running....If you go the second week of November you will miss all Epcot activities and the holiday parade at DHS... I would go the week in December if you can....Also, Saop Weekend is the 14-16th (we think) which will draw crowds to DHS...
And for us there is no better resort at the holidays than the WL... They have a gigantic tree in the lobby and so many beautiful decorations throughout the resort....Then there is the boat the MK and back... Makes the night easy if you plan to go the Christmas party.
We went a couple of years ago the 2nd week in Nov. The crowds weren't bad, use the Fast Pass on rides where available. Soap Week was the week we were there and we actually found lines were VERY short at Hollywood Studios when the soap stars were at the park. (no line at the Star Tours ride - a big hit for my 2 boys)
There were some holiday decorations up but I could tell they were just getting started. I would love to be a WDW closer to Christmas! It must be even more magical. We really enjoyed our trip in Nov but given the flexibility and choice I would pick Dec.
